The influence of legendary British rock band UFO is readily – and rightfully – praised by the likes of Iron Maiden, Def Leppard and Metallica (among others), yet the band’s impact in America remains an underground phenomenon. With the recent reissue of UFO’s 1981 album, “The Wild, the Willing and the Innocent,” drummer Andy Parker kindly returns to discuss the expanded release, the unlikely influences of Bruce Springsteen and Elton John, the grinding pace of the 1970s/early ’80s and why the saxophone is one of rock’n’roll’s most unsung instruments.
