By now you’ve probably heard about Dolly Parton’s passing. She was very big on getting children into reading and reducing illiteracy. In that case we’re going to continue to promote literacy by reviewing manga. That may sound completely disconnected but we’ve go nothing in the tank this week. Take this intro for the place holder they usually are and we’ll move on to the manga summaries. Tim has Jinmen. Men made of gin sounds like a hilarious manga, especially if they’re English. Instead we have Masato, a weird kid who loves going to the zoo. He’s been away from his favorite zoo near mount Fuji for years and is coming …

We’ve got three movies as we often do. What we don’t usually have is a movie that has three titles for a joint review. So without a lot of ado we’re going to talk about The Scoundrel’s Wife[2002](Also The Home Front or The Smuggler’s Wife). You should be able to find it to watch on the Tube. The director had a 4K restoration done and made available because it’s basically unwatchable otherwise. It’s a movie set in World War 2. It starts just before the attack on Pearl Harbor. It’s set in Louisiana where our protagonist, Camille, is a single mother. She has a daughter and son and her husband …

You there, are you a resident? Move along then. This isn’t a park for everyone., No, I don’t care that your kids are bored and the park is farther away than this. This is a common area for residents only. And there’s no skateboarding or bike riding allowed. You aren’t going to leave, huh. Well if you sit real quiet and listen to this review of manga or two, we won’t trespass you. Hey, where are you going? First up is Tim with Kurosagi. Kurosaki is a swindlers swindler. He finds con artists and cons them. The first being an operation that stole about ten million yen from a business …

Lastly we reach the reviews where Joseph uses his super culinary skills to cook up orc, dragon, and kraken. As for Andrew he takes a seat to tell us a story, with minimal movement but lots of comedy.

It’s been a very busy week. People constantly running around, doing things. Having all sorts of consequences. Honestly we’re happy that it’s been as calm as we can hope for as summer winds down. We’ll just be glad to not have to run the air conditioning all the damn time. Maybe have an excuse to wear a hoody outside and take along our concealed manga. But that’s a whole other show. We have Vengeance: A Love Story[2017]. A movie based on a Joyce Carol Oates novel. Which doesn’t really narrow it down. If you don’t know, she’s the kind of person that takes the headlines and makes a fiction story …
