Anime Pulse

This week on Anime Pulse we got sunburn, abrupt endings, and bland isekai. Up first in the IRL news Andrew is feeling a bit under the weather, and Joseph suffered three ways while doing yard work. Then in the industry news the Japanese government is centralizing anime. Lastly another round of reviews see Joseph gathering up the scraps of adventure in an isekai, and Andrew revvs a chainsaw while riding a shark into a tornado.

Welcome to our fishery. Old Two Cut Tuna. Named because we always take two slices out for ourselves. It’s a tradition we started since we did manga reviews. At least that’s what we’d like to be called if we did guided fishing tours. Having seen the cost of boats and fuel, we’ll stick to manga reviews. With that, we have two like we often do. First up is Tim with XoGenasys. It’s the future and Darisu Smith is a kid in the future. He fights with other school kids and has a sister. His fighting prowess gets the attention of the people that run cyborg gladiator fights. It’s his ticket …

This week on Anime Pulse we got Discord bans, Seven Deadly Golfers, and how to torture the podcast hosts. Up first IRL news has Andrew back from his brief trip, and Joseph has begun his lawn mowing Unc arc. Then in the industry news, Hololive will be returning to the baseball field. Finally the reviews come fast with Joseph waking up with boobs, OP powers, and terribly obvious villains. Andrew however is on more familiar grounds, hitting those birdies and being trained by a baddie.

Open the hatch. Seriously, it’s damp down here at the bottom of the ocean and a bit cold. Plus we just saw bits of the Titan sub go floating by. We don’t want to have to wade through anymore of the compressed people bits than may exist already. The cleverer of you may have sussed out that the oceanic intro signals a water based movie. Which brings us to a Norwiegian film, Kraken[2026]. The plot is there’s a salmon fishery in Norway that is dealing with a fictional parasite. They use sonic technology, and not just sonic or hypersonic. But alternate dimensional chaos emerald Sonic, Steve. Or maybe just ultra …

Things are better in twos. Four wheels good? Two wheels better. Four legs good? Two legs better. That’s why our reviews come in pairs. At least for the manga. The movies are a whole other ball game inside a kettle of fish. Are we mixing metaphors and aphorisms? You betcha, because that’s two and two is better. First up is Tim with a webtoon, The Player Hides His Past. The premise is there was a popular game that suddenly went offline and the CEO disappeared. Shortly afterwards, gates opened up, monsters started attacking, and everyone that was a player became their character. What happened to the people that multiplayed because …

This week on Anime Pulse we got careless heroes, remakes, and disappointing burgers. Up first IRL news with Andrew punishing an Ingrid player who counted their chicken before they hatched, and Joseph went to a place called Herbie's Burgers for a very sad mouthful experience. Then in the industry news there is no industry news! Lastly the reviews close things out as Joseph becomes a very bored Goku, and Andrew eats some fingers to fight in a culling game.

Welcome back to Manga review racing. Where we track the fastest manga reviewers. As this is the off season they’re going to talk about movies. Turning around we have something about pilots, planes, and a scowling Clint Eastwood. That’s right, a movie you’ve never heard of, Firefox(1982). Clint Eastwood is a retired pilot who fought in Vietnam. The US Government wants to drag him back in because the Soviets have a plane. This super secret plane has a neural interface and the test pilot is the same size as Clint. Ignoring that a man who is six feet four inches almost certainly wouldn’t be a test pilot back in the …

This week on Anime Pulse we got mountain climbing, low calorie hentai, and the best holiday episode in anime. Up first IRL news rolls in with Andrew dodging smurfing Ingrid players, and Joseph had the saltiest fried dough on Earth. Then in the industry news the mangaka of Gachiakuta deleted their X account. And finally the reviews close us out with Joseph attempting to shut down Japan’s breeding program, and Andrew obey’s his master and swims through a super creek before reaching the ouguri cap. Show Notes Music Intro – “Japanese Style Trap Beat” by Annex from Royalty Free Anime Music Outro – “Neko Mimi Mode“ by Dimitri from Paris from Tsukuyomi: Moon …
