Episode 184-We did not see that coming.
You know, sometimes you think you've got someone all figured out. You've taken in the evidence, judged that book by its cover and then...WHAM! Out of nowhere, a new piece of the puzzle shows up and it DOES NOT look anything like the rest of the puzzle, causing your mind to fold in on itself over and over until you're reduced to thinking a Dodge Journey is a good car.
That's what Ian's brought to the blanket for this week. A paradox. A conundrum. A quandary. Dave? What did he bring? Well for starters, he brought his usual unrelenting gingerness as per the usual, but also a discussion topic about non-soft soft-tops, aka Landau Tops.
Come along with us this week as we embark on this strange journey. You'll almost be glad you did.
Episode 183-Groan
Sometimes you just need to look at a car and just be happy that you're looking at it. It doesn't need to be more complicated than that, but it often is. In a return to simplicity and happiness, Dave and Ian discuss car things that make them feel happy. Oh, and Ian makes gross noises, so there's that.
Gross groaning aside, our intrepid hosts discuss their Eskimo-brother car rental, a Cadillac CTS, and it's frustrating and enjoyable aspects.
Sorry about the groaning. We'll be sure to never avoid doing it again.
Episode 182-Yum. Tums.
After three and a half years, we have forged quite the support structure between the two of us. We're here to support one another, no matter what (or from which orifice) the issues may spring forth. Ian, in classic Eagle Scout fashion, gets us ready for the next time an unexpected too-old-leftover-pizza-induced event gets in the way of our show.
With Dave's stomach behaving normally and Ian's wallet a touch lighter, we celebrate the launch of our Ram 1500 Longhorn Just One Thing video. We're really proud of this one, and we promise to only make crazier videos as time goes on.
It's all cupcakes and Rolaids this week on the show, and that's just how we like it. Enjoy!
Episode 181-Well done whole milk
You know what they say: "Life comes at you fast, but food poisoning comes at you even faster". Yeah, we all remember that classic, right? Sorry for having to cut the episode short, but we're absolutely certain that you wouldn't want to watch what happened after the cameras turned off, and we'd FOR SURE get banned from YouTube for it, scar all of you for life, yadda, yadda, yadda.
Even though this was a truncated episode thanks to Dave's body rejecting leftover pizza like a bad kidney transplant, we still managed to get some good thoughts out. The main piece being Ian's most recent shower thoughts and profanity-laden text messages from his friends.
We'll be back at you with a regular program next week, as long as our hosts stay away from mysterious fridge food. We love you.
Episode 180-The end of civilization will absolutely start inside a Whole Foods.
Ah Whole Foods, so foods many wholes, and this week's show starts off with Dave telling us about the insane entitlement of one specific patron. Yep, we're a car show, yet here we are.
Speaking of where we are, or where we were to be more precise, Dave was driving cars on a frozen lake while Ian was in Las Vegas, where he was, and I'm sure you'll be shocked to discover, also driving cars. There it is.
All that said, no matter what Whole Foods throws at us, or more specifically, the customers hit us with, we're gonna find a way to bring it back around to cars. Enjoy!
Episode 179-Yeehaw!
What do Dave, Ian, and Barry Effing Manilow all have in common? Well, it's certainly not singing ability, that's for sure. What they do have in common is that IT LOOKS LIKE THEY MADE IT!!! Come join us in an episode where we celebrate FCA throwing a crazy pickup truck our way after we've paid our podcast dues over these last three and a half years.
Listeners, watchers, viewers, family members that guilt-listen, we humbly present to you the 2019 Ram 1500 Longhorn pickup truck. And what a truck it is. Come with us as we discuss our huge red pick'em up truck, and our confused, complicated, and quite lengthy emotions that apparently came with it.
Huge thanks to Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and Rocky Mountain Redline for providing us with the truck, we truly enjoyed our time and and our listeners will too.
Episode 178-Come and knock on my door. Or don't. Please don't.
Do you need your toothbrush to tweet? For the love of dog, NO. That said, the Internet of Sh*t comes in handy every now and again, especially when you need to figure out why the h*ck there's melted chocolate all over the door to your house.
Speaking of technology, Dave takes a turn in expressing his moist-yet-half-baked thoughts in the first installment of Getting Wet With Dave. We discuss progress and division, which the conversation in itself progresses nicely when Ian brings the humidity to a full 100 percent and makes it rain nostalgia.
It certainly doesn't hurt to look back and reminisce about how things used to be, but we can't insist that the way things used to be are the way they NEED to be now and in the future.
Episode 177
In what could be called the most car-centric show we've ever done, we present to you, beloved viewer, our thoughts on the 2018 Subaru BRZ tS. I mean we are a car show, in theory, and we to talk about cars, but we really put a hat on a hat on a big wing on this one.
We were able to spend quite a bit of time with this snappy little car and besides making a really fun video, which you should totally watch, we took in a lot of information, thoughts, and feelings about the 2018 Subaru BRZ tS.
In this episode we discuss the reason that car has stayed in our heads, how to bargain with a toddler, wacky concept cars, Dave's mechanical mis-adventures. So yeah, car show!
Episode 176-Oh we talk about a Saab? Really?
Much like procedural crime dramas, some elements of the TeamClearCoat Podcast can be formulaic, but satisfying nonetheless. One of these elements is the interventional and often times aggressive approach to blanket fort-based therapy.
In this episode Dave finally reveals the full extent of his thoughts about his time behind the wheel of Ian's TurboX.
Episode 175-Mail Bag
Our intrepid, scratch that, our taffy-addled and cardigan-ensconced hosts are back in the blanket fort after their holiday travels. In this episode we catch up on all of the things that we saw, our listeners saw, and what our buddy Peedah purchased.
We had a great time recording this episode, catching up and hearing from you goofballs that listen to us makes it our favorite time of the year for the show.
Settle in, put your feet up, and as Peedah says, "Keep it between the mustard and the mayo."
