  • BMX Bandits
When I say “Australian Cinema”, the first thing you probably think of is either Mad Max or Crocodile Dundee. While it’s true, these two characters no doubt are Australia’s biggest contributions to pop culture, there is one little film from the 1980s that’s often overlooked, yet was at the forefront of a burgeoning movement that was about to blow up and create an entirely new world of extreme sports, not to mention, introduce the world to a certain future film star…
I’m your host, Dave, and joining me as we do some gnarly barspins are fellow cinephiles and sandbaggers Ryan, Mike, and special guest: Jackie.
Listen as we discuss the weirdly sexualized alternate VHS covers for BMX Bandits; we wonder if the film’s alternate title of “Short Wave” would have been a more apt description for this walkie-talkie obsessed movie; and finally, we try our hand at some fan fiction as we attempt to build a more fleshed out backstory for the unfortunately named character of “Fat Kid”.

  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Shredder and Splintered
Well, we’ve finally come to the end of our Street Sharks vs Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles debate with the finale to the Turtles pilot: Shredder and Splintered. Which show about ex-treeeme mutant teenagers/college students will reign supreme and which one will Dave declare the winner? The answer may (not) surprise you!
I’m your host, Dave, and joining me as we say goodbye (for now…) to the heroes in a half-shell is Ruler of the Wasteland and Street Sharks fanboy, Immortan Hoof.
Listen as we discuss the unsettling reveal of Krang’s body: a giant man-baby wearing sunglasses and red underwear; Rocksteady finally gets his gun off; and finally, April O’Neil shows she’s willing to do anything - including threatening her boss with a Turtle communicator - to get her story.

  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Hot Rodding Teenagers from Dimension X
Well, it took four episodes, but we’re finally here - the episode of the Turtles that depending on your capacity for wackiness, may be the one that jumped the (street) shark: “Hot Rodding Teenagers from Dimension X”.
I’m your host, Dave, and joining me again is Ruler of the Wasteland and Patron of the Animated Arts, Immortan Hoof.
Listen as we discuss the Neutrinos: Dimension X’s version of peace loving Millennials; Hoof and I get nostalgic for the Technodrome: one of the all time greatest playsets; and finally, we stare into the abyss as we catch a nightmare glimpse of the Turtles without their bandanas.

  • Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter
Two times before, you have felt the terror...known the madness...lived the horror...but THIS is the pod you've been screaming for…
I’m your host, Dave, and joining me again as another Friday the 13th descends upon us are fellow cinephiles and dead fucks Ryan and Mike.
Listen as we discuss the awkward dance-gyrations that changed the face of Horror forever; Corey Feldman uses his child psychology degree to outwit Jason; and finally, Aerobics Videos: What We Had Before Internet Porn.

**Editor's Note: Please excuse the audio difficulties that pop up in the middle of the episode. We were having some trouble with our recording equipment (no doubt as a result of this cursed day). While the portions in question are perfectly listenable, they are not up to our usual high standards. As per store protocol, Mike has been blamed for this incident.)**

  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - A Thing About Rats
Now that the craziness of Halloween is behind us (see our Resident Evil episode), I, for one, couldn’t be more pleased to return to the totally bodacious world of everyone’s favorite heroes in a halfshell.
I’m your host, Dave, and with me again as we rejoin the Turtles in the search for the Technodrome is Ruler of the Wasteland and Patron of the Animated Arts, Immortan Hoof
Listen as we discuss Shredder’s comically extensive hidden camera network; the Turtles reveal themselves to be dirty, no good car thieves; and finally, we wonder how many innocent people lost their lives the night the Mousers visited April’s apartment building.

  • Resident Evil
Happy Halloween, everybody! I wish I had better news for everyone out there, but sadly, things at Apocalypse Video are looking pretty grim. Apparently, Immortan Hoof has covertly installed an override in Chad’s system that cuts the power and puts the store on full Lockdown mode when a cartoon is viewed without the Hoof in attendance. Unfortunately for us, that means we’re now stuck in the store while we wait for the Hoof to arrive to dispense some wasteland justice for our transgression. Thankfully, our old friend Cody happened to be in the store when things went south, and as luck would have it, he’s got his PSP on him -- and it’s fully charged…
I’m your host, David Snider, and joining me as we await our fate on yet another Halloween episode gone awry are fellow cinephiles Mike, Ryan, and special guest Cody.
Listen as we discuss Resident Evil, a film written for and by a fifteen year old; we break down the famous wall-kick that sold millions of DVD players; and finally, we plot the crazy Matrix-like trajectory that the franchise would quickly end up taking.

  • Sheena
If there’s one thing we strive above all else to do at Apocalypse Video, it’s to serve the Wasteland in all of it's cinematic needs, be it motion picture education, VCR head cleaning, or in some instances, the settling of bets. And it’s with that latter service in mind that we come to the problem presented today by former employee of the store, Cody, and his ptera-person wife, Ja-nah. It appears Ja-nah, who admittedly has only seen about five movies in her lifetime, is under the impression that nudity is NOT allowed in a PG rated film. Cody disagrees...and so do the 1980s.
I’m your host, David Snider, and joining me as we talk about a film that’s the textbook definition of “white savior” are fellow cinephiles Ryan, Mike, and special guests returning from the Wasteland, Cody and Ja-nah.
Listen as we discuss how a film that features a monkey throwing a grenade may somehow be the most boring movie we’ve watched to date; Sheena pays “homage” to Chariots of Fire with its musical score; and finally, we wonder how much of the budget was earmarked for wrongful deaths caused by animal maulings.

  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Enter the Shredder
We’ve got the Turtles, now we enter...the shredder. After a whole episode of build up for the Turtles’ arch nemesis, Shredder is finally here in all of his glory. Unfortunately, he’s playing second fiddle to an alien from Dimension X.
I’m your host, David Snider, and joining me as always is Ruler of the Wasteland and Patron of the Animated Arts, Immortan Hoof.
Listen as we discuss the power dynamic between a bumbling Shredder and his alien boss, Krang; the Turtles show that violence is A-OK, as long as you’re killing robots; and finally, we can’t help but notice the (how do I put this…) “animation style” of April O’Neil in the second episode of the Turtles.

  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Turtle Tracks
The battle for the title of “Most Awesome Cartoon Series Ever” has begun! We’ve seen the Street Sharks, now we move on to the shellheads themselves, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. One has a long lasting toy line and decades worth of successful tv shows and feature films under its belt, the other has a YouTube video featuring Vin Diesel hawking amped up sock puppets.  Let the battle for cartoon supremacy commence!!! I’m your host, David Snider, and joining me as we pit the jaws against the shells is Ruler of the Wasteland and Patron of the Animated Arts, Immortan Hoof. Listen as we discuss the turtles toy line and the coveted Technodrome playset; we reveal the magical ingredient that makes a great cartoon: the theme song; and finally...machine gun granny. Be sure to rate, review and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. • Enter the Dragon
It’s hard to believe it’s already been a year since Mike joined our ranks, replacing a presumed dead Cody Eastlick and rising from the lowly role of Trainee all the way to the esteemed position of Assistant Shift Leader. But alas, Mike cannot simply rest on his laurels -- no, because being that it’s his one year anniversary with the company, he must compete in Slaughterfest (aka: Employee Reviews). And he’ll have some stiff competition too, because this year’s combatants are truly the most deadly in all of the wasteland.
However, since we like Mike (and in all honesty, it’d be hard to find a replacement that cooks rat meat as good as him), I decided to be nice and throw him a bone before the Slaughter -- I mean, Employee Review, begins. With that in mind, we’re screening an instructional video featuring none other than Martial Arts Legend Bruce Lee to help Mike out before he enters the fight - (ahem, review) of his life.
I’m your host, David Snider, and joining me as we toast Mike’s one year anniversary (and imminent death) are fellow cinephiles and karate school dropouts Ryan Caldwell and Special Guest (and Slaughterfest combatant) Cody Eastlick.
Listen as we discuss Enter the Dragon’s legacy and the many knockoffs it inspired; we marvel at Bruce Lee’s superhuman abilities; and finally, we demand justice for Williams as we rewrite the film’s third act.
