  • Famous Studios Superman - Destruction Inc.
If wartime propaganda and flat out racism weren’t enough, then get ready for Famous Studios’ most thrilling addition to the Superman mythos: boredom (aka Destruction Inc.). I’m your host, David Snider, and joining me again as we try to figure out what the hell was going on in this episode is ruler of the wasteland, Immortan Hoof.
Listen as we discuss the return of the Daily Planet’s resident Looney Tunes character, Louis; bad guys do bad things...for some unknown reason; and finally, what starts as a promising noir murder mystery, quickly devolves into a boring shrugfest.

  • Famous Studios Superman - Eleventh Hour
Just when we thought we’d already seen the depths of the Famous Studios era of Superman...we get Eleventh Hour, a flat out propaganda film and arguably the most infamous of the 1940s Superman cartoons. Strap in folks, this one’s going to be brutal.
I’m your host, David Snider, and joining me as we put on our cringe faces is the ruler of Citadel and an all around good guy (minus the occasional cannibalism -- allegedly!) Immortan Hoof.
Listen as we discuss how the japanese stereotypes have somehow increased a hundredfold since The Japoteurs; Superman goes full on Red Son as he blows stuff up; and finally, we wonder just how the hell Lois and Clark ended up in a Japanese prison in the first place.

  • Famous Studios Superman - Showdown
Well, folks, we’ve made it. After ten installments of the Krypto-Cast, we have finally hit bottom with our eleventh chapter: Showdown - truly the height of mediocrity in a once enjoyable series of cartoon shorts.
I’m your host, David Snider, and joining me as we both try our best from nodding off is ruler of the wasteland and lover of (good) cartoons, Immortan Hoof.
Listen as we discuss a doppelganger plot gone boringly wrong; Superman breaks down a bunch of doors (I know...try to contain your excitement); and finally, we try to decipher the meaning behind some 1940s era slang.

  • Famous Studios Superman - The Japoteurs
The Krypto-Cast returns with its tenth installment, and boy...do we miss the Fleischer’s already. That’s right, folks - we are now in the Famous Studios era of Superman, and with it comes an abundance of racism and xenophobia. You know, everything you want your children to see in their cartoons.
I’m your host, David Snider, and joining me as we collectively facepalm is ruler of the wasteland and fan of (non racist) cartoons, Immortan Hoof.
Listen as we discuss the impossibility of a building sized bomber plane; Superman exhibits some old timey racial slurs; and finally, we settle in as (In)Famous Studios steers the series into a further hole of mediocrity.

  • Friday the 13th: Part 2
Just when you thought you were safe from another convoluted story line...the body count continues! I’m your host, David Snider, and joining me as I recount the further adventures of Jason Voorhees are fellow cinephiles and camp counselor trainees Ryan Caldwell, Michael Althouse, and special guest (formally presumed murderer) Mara.
Listen as we discuss our childhoods watching horror marathons and scrambled late night porn; we talk about the dangers of skinny dipping in nature; and finally, we share the awkwardness of watching a slasher film with our parents.

This is David Snider from Sector 2...signing off. And remember, always exercise caution when skinny dipping -- you never know when an 80s douche is waiting in the bushes.

  • Cat People (1982)
If my time working at Apocalypse Video has taught me anything, it’s that the answer to most of life’s questions can be found in movies...most of the time, anyway. When it comes to the matter of wanting to transform myself into an animal in order to one-up my ptera-speaking friend, sadly, the movies did not hold the answer I was looking for. Thankfully, while I may not have found a viable transformation guide in 1982’s Cat People, I did manage to discover a bizarre erotic thriller that made me remember why incest is so gross and why David Bowie was one of the greatest musicians to ever live.
I’m your host, David Snider, and joining me as we unleash our inner beast are fellow cinephiles Ryan Caldwell and Michael Althouse.
Listen as we discuss what may be the sexiest song ever made; we try to figure out what Paul Schrader was trying to say with his hyper incestual cat erotica; and finally, we debate whether Cat People’s copious amounts of nudity is enough to single handedly rebuild our Adult Film section.

This is David Snider from Sector 2...signing off. And remember, always bring a shotgun and some rope when planning to have intercourse with a cat-person - it could save your life!

  • Max Fleischer's Superman - Terror on the Midway
It’s the end of an era as the Apocalypse Video Krypto-Cast tackles the ninth and final installment of the Fleischer produced Superman shorts: Terror on the Midway! I’m your host, Dave, and joining me as we watch a blatant King Kong rip-off is lord of the wasteland, Immortan Hoof!
Listen as we discuss what a great night it is for a murder (...or fire, or something); we stare into the abyss that are the creepy doll eyes of Metropolis’ children; and finally, the Fleischer’s give everyone what they really wanted as they depart the series: close-ups of Superman’s ass.

  • The Beastmaster
As a great Vulcan once said, “Only NIxon could go to China”, or, in this case, “Only Cody could marry a Ptera-person”. That’s right, despite losing an arm to one of the great beasts, Cody has magnanimously tossed aside all anger and past hostilities and has taken a Ptera-woman as his wife. And what better way to celebrate this joyous union than by watching the age old HBO classic The Beastmaster?
I’m your host, David Snider, and joining me as we throw some children into the sacrificial fire are fellow cinephiles and emurites Ryan Caldwell, MIchael Althouse, and special guests Cody Eastlick and Ja-nah.
Listen as we discuss the practicality of a stilt village; we try to determine how Dar maintains his amazing bod in the desert; and finally, we breakdown all of the things that The Beastmaster shamelessly rips off - from Conan to the Smurfs.

  • Max Fleischer's Superman - Volcano
Hey, folks! It’s Dave, your trusty cinephile friend from Sector 2. While we air out the store to ensure a pleasant smelling experience to our customers (see Episode 31) we figured what better time to release another installment of the seventeen part series: The Krypto-Cast!
Listen as we begin the descent into the dregs of the Fleischer era Superman shorts; Lois’ inexplicable hatred for Clark gets worse; and finally, Immortan Hoof calls out the dubious morals of Lois Lane (wink, wink).

  • The Fog (1980)
I’m starting to think our store is cursed. First, a nuclear explosion destroys our Adult Film section, then Chad’s A.I. turns evil and tries to kill us. Now, in what may be the biggest slight yet, our toilet - the only working toilet in all of Sector 2 - is on the fritz. And to add insult to injury, there’s a mysterious and foul smelling fog emanating around the septic tank out back. When will this madness end?! Aside from our extensive collection of Criterion films, the promise of a functioning crapper is one of the few draws the store still has left. Thankfully, the answer to our problem may just lie in an underrated John Carpenter classic...
I’m your host, David Snider, and joining me as we avoid yet another problem by watching movies are fellow cinephiles Ryan Caldwell and Michael Althouse.
Listen as we discuss how Tom Atkins may be the greatest “non traditional” leading man in cinema history; we discuss the origins of the legendary “Stomach Pounder”, and finally, we consider changing careers and applying for the highly competitive position of Midnight Jazz Disc Jockey/Lighthouse Keeper.

This is David Snider from Sector 2 saying, Look Out! The Fog is heading towards Bartertown! Stay inside! Lock your windows! There’s something in the Fog!!!
