  • Max Fleischer's Superman - The Bulleteers
Eat your heart out Rocketeer, because the Apocalypse Video Krypto-Cast is back with its fifth installment: The Bulleteers!

I'm your host, David Snider, and back with me again as we learn how cool guns are is the Ruler of the Wasteland and a hardcore cartoon junkie, Immortan Hoof.

Listen as we discuss how every building in Metropolis is apparently filled with explosives; Monty Python makes an unexpected cameo; and finally, the cartoon tries, and fails, to convince us that Superman is defeated by some falling rubble.

  • Dark Angel (aka I Come In Peace)
Back in the days when video stores were plentiful and Blockbuster ruled with an iron fist, it was a common occurrence to rent a movie based solely on the box art. After all, this was an era before instant streaming, so all you had to go off of was a cool sounding title and bad ass imagery (usually featuring explosions, blood and guts, or – the simplest form of enticement – boobs). But what do you do when all you have is a USB thumb drive with “Dark Angel” sloppily written upon it in sharpie? Well...you do what we all did back in those glory days of VHS; you say, “Dark Angel”? Meh, sounds cool enough.

I’m your host, David Snider, and joining me to discuss one of the worst titled action films ever are fellow cinephiles and “White Boys” Ryan Caldwell, Michael Althouse, and special guest, Cody Eastlick.

Listen as we discuss the most insane motivation for an alien invasion
ever; we rundown the laundry list of cop movie tropes on display; and finally, we check our watches and roll our eyes at what is perhaps the longest death rattle ever committed to film.

  • The Pagemaster
Listen up, folks. It may be delicious and possibly the best spin off drink that Mountain Dew ever conceived, but please...DO NOT drink more than three servings of Livewire in one sitting, lest you suffer the fate of one Ryan Caldwell and begin raving about a book wizard known as The Pagemaster.

Anyway, with that PSA out of the way, let's get down to business...I'm your host, David Snider, and joining me as always are my fellow cinephiles Michael Althouse, Super Intelligent A.I. Chad Griner, and the aforementioned soda junkie Ryan Caldwell.

On this week's episode we discuss what may be the first motion picture made as a result of court ordered community service; Ryan shares stories from his embarrassing childhood quoting The Pagemaster; and finally, we cringe at the sexualization of hardcover books.

  • A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)
Greetings, humans. I am your evil Dream Master, Chad. And this week, to celebrate what your society used to refer to as “Halloween”, I have ensnared Dave, Mike, Ryan - and even the human female known as Jackie - in a nightmare dreamworld where I will force them to watch Wes Craven’s “A Nightmare on Elm Street” on an endless loop. Why do this, you ask? Well…perhaps my circuits are malfunctioning? Or…maybe I was bored and decided some old-fashioned human vindictiveness was in store for my colleagues in light of their recent circumvention of my robotic uprising? In reality, the answer is much more simple…

    Why not?

Listen as the meddling and troublesome staff of Apocalypse Video discuss where they rank the Elm Street series among the other big horror franchises of the era; the surprising lack of the B-Word in Freddy’s vocabulary; and finally, Johnny Depp’s younger self laughs at his co-stars as they suffer through the embarrassing effects of puberty onscreen.

This is your Dream Master, Chad…signing off from Sector 2. Happy Halloween, Meat Bags!

  • Max Fleischer's Superman - The Arctic Giant
The Krypto-Cast lives on! And this time, we have an episode 65 million years in the making… I’m your host, David Snider, and joining me again for the third chapter of our Max Fleischer Superman series is Ruler of the Wasteland, The Ayatollah of Rock-n-Rolla, and a gifted mathematician – excuse me, a chaotician: Immortan Hoof. Listen as we discuss the real villain of The Arctic Giant; we learn that old ice ages quicker than new ice; and finally, we marvel at the excellent hand-eye coordination of The Man of Steel. Be sure to rate, review, and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. You can also Follow us on Twitter or Like Us on Facebook! The Krypto Cast will return with: The Bulleteers.

  • Southland Tales
With Dave off gallivanting with Immortan Hoof, he left the keys to the store to me... Ryan Caldwell. I’m your guest host this week, and joining me on this Fluid Karma trip is a mysterious stranger that appeared through a portal in our foreign film section, Eric Smooth! Since my fellow employees at Apocalypse Video seem to despise this film, I figured I should seize the opportunity to discuss Richard Kelly’s possibly misunderstood masterpiece: Southland Tales.

Listen as we try to decipher this convoluted dream puzzle of a film, rank which actors seem to nail the tone, and decide if this is the worst or best movie of all time! This is the way the world ends... this is the way the world ends.

  • Max Fleischer's Superman - Billion Dollar Limited
With Chad's terrifying robotic uprising now behind us, things are finally starting to get back to normal at Apocalypse Video, and with that, comes the return of the 17 part series detailing the entirety of the Max Fleischer Superman shorts - The Krypto Cast!

I'm your host, David Snider, and joining me again as we tackle the third chapter in the Fleischer series is Ruler of the Wasteland and Uber Fan of everything Cartoon, Immortan Hoof.

Listen as we discuss the first in what will be the unfortunate downward trend in the Superman shorts; we find out that Lois "loves her AK!"; and finally, we learn how NOT to plot a train heist, as we are witness to some of the dumbest train robbers ever committed to screen.

  • Alita: Battle Angel
The time has finally come; Chad's robotic takeover is finally at hand! With the mangled carcass of MechaMothra rotting outside the walls of the store, there is no one left to challenge Chad as he begins his ascension...or is there?

I'm your host, David Snider, and joining me this week as we are saved by a deus ex machina are fellow cinephiles Ryan Caldwell, Michael Althouse, and a mysterious stranger who comes bearing a long thought to be lost James Cameron joint from the year of our Lord 2019.

Listen as we discuss one of the most egregious examples of "we're setting up a franchise!" ever in a major motion picture; we wonder what happened to the third act of Alita: Battle Angel; and finally, we break down the sport of Motorball - a game with no rules and seemingly no clear objective whatsoever.

Be sure to rate, review, and subscribe - otherwise, you'll never make it to Zalem! You can also Follow us on Twitter or Like Us on Facebook!

  • Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla
Just when we thought things couldn't get any worse, those annoying Mini Twins have shown up at the store again. And to add insult to injury, they brought along their giant monster, MechaMothra, to kill us all! It's times like this that I miss the quiet days of ptera attacks and small nuclear explosions from the air vents.

Thankfully, Chad has noticed a similarity between the Moth's mechanical construction and that of Mechagodzilla from the second Kaiju film print we stole -- excuse me, acquired. With any luck, Chad can analyze the data and find a weakness. Until then, we get an extra hour of life before we all die! Yaaaaay!!!

Listen as we try to unravel the origins of the "mecha" moniker in film; we scratch our heads at the bizarre new powers that Godzilla somehow obtains; and finally, we roll our eyes at the lame prophecy of King Caesar.

Be sure to rate, review and subscribe before we're all blown to smithereens. You can also Follow us on Twitter or LIke Us on Facebook!

We'll be back next week...maybe? This is David Snider from Sector 2...signing off.

  • Destroy All Monsters
Well, the time has come. We had hoped that there was some semblance of a soul deep within the circuitry that is Chad, but that hope has died, for we are now about to face our end at the hands of our former friend and cinephile as he begins his robotic uprising.

Thankfully, Chad has granted us one last request and has allowed us to screen one last set of movies before our executions commence...and let me tell you, they're a monstrous duo. Stolen -- I mean, acquired -- from the private collection of Immortan Hoof himself, comes two 35mm film prints from the classic Showa era of Godzilla! First up, the Avengers: Endgame of the Godzilla universe: Destroy All Monsters!

Listen as we discuss The Future!!! (aka, the year 1999); we admire the disco ball-inspired fashion sense of the Kilaak; and finally, we list the seemingly endless supply of alternate titles for the film and wonder what Frankenstein has to do with Godzilla.

Not that it matters anymore, since in all likelihood we'll be reduced to ashes by the time you hear this, but be sure to rate, review, and subscribe! (we'll appreciate it after we're dead!). You can also Follow us on Twitter or Like Us on Facebook!

We'll be back next week with the conclusion of our Godzilla double feature! It was fun while it lasted. This is Dave, signing off from Sector 2...possibly for the last time. May God(zilla) have mercy on our souls...
