This week the boys talk with Steve Coscia CSP, Coscia Communications, about his recent 5-month journey out west. Just him and his trusty pick-up truck, Steve logged his travels as he met some interesting people, had some great food and managed to still do some work as he met up with contractors, and taught at some vocational colleges along the way. As a nearly 40-year veteran of consulting and teaching, Steve also shares some of his soft skills tips. You don't want to miss this great convo!

The boys heat up the podcast and scramble to the mic to enjoy a main course with Jay Egg. We even include a side serving of humor. Jay is a longtime friend to the Hub, where you can find many of his articles on our websites. Jay is also a consultant and designer of geothermal HVAC systems, author of two books and, as mentioned earlier, the founder of Egg Geo, which focuses on geothermal consulting, engineering, and contracting technologies. But as you will find out, he's a family man with a dozen eggs.

This week the boys chat with John Ruese, vice president & general manager, RIDGID Pressing, a technology that has been introduced into the US for more than 20+ years. John Talks about the RIDGID Experience, the evolution of pressing, the R&D behind the tools such as the RP-350, and continues the good fight against the stigma that pressing technology is taking the skill out of the trades. Let's bring it!

John & Tim head to America's heartland and visit with Chad and Tyler Peterman of Peterman Brothers, formerly Peterman Heating, Cooling & Plumbing out of Indianapolis. Michael Flynn (@flynnstone1 on Instgram) joins the show to talk about his journey into the trades and more importantly his five years of sobriety. Michael admitted he was installing gas-fired equipment in customers' homes and he needed to be at his best, and not hungover. What was his turning point? Fast forward five years up the road and Michael is a new father, and that should be motivation enough to keep on the right path.

After what happened in Texas earlier this year, how can the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT)—which represents 90% of the state's electrical load—possibly be trusted? This week the boys return to San Antonio to talk with Joel Frederick, president of Quartermoon Plumbing & AC as he shares his views of ERCOT and conserving energy, the Texas deregulated electrical grid, the cold snap earlier in the year, the supply chain, rising prices, finding and keeping good employees, hunting wild boar, Ross Perot and Branch Davidians. Joel is always a good sport and he isn't afraid to tell it like it is. Give it a listen!

This week the boys talk with George DeJesus as he talks about his journey into the trades, soaking in as much knowledge and experience as he could before venturing out on his own in August 2020—during a pandemic, mind you—to start his own business—George's Drains. One of the best in drain cleaning, George talks about his love for the trades. We talk about his experience with the supply chain, and how he manages to work under the current conditions. If you're not following him on Instagram, you need to @georgetheplumber. He's a great follow.

What the heck is going on with the supply chain? From back orders to price increases, Bradford White's Travis Mikulenas, Director, Primary Metals Procurement and Carl Pinto, Senior Director of Marketing Communications, talk about disruptions in the supply chain, especially as it pertains to steel. How long will this roller coaster last, and are price increases here to stay? Bradford White is doing everything in its power to work with its customers to keep them "whole." It's definitely not an easy conversation, but one that needs to be had. We thank Travis & Carl for getting out in front of the issue as best they can.
