This week the boys are back talking about the trades as they talk a whole lot about John's hometown of Sycamore, Ill., home to Ideal Industries. Joining us this episode is Ideal Chairman, Meghan Juday, as we talk about running a successful, multi-generational company, a little about her background and Ideal Nationals, a program intended to bring more attention to the trades by showcasing professionals and apprentices as they show off their skills in a national competition against their peers. The Finals are aired on national TV.

The boys reconnect with Mike Fisher to talk about Dallas's moral victory, and loss, to Tampa Bay last night. The 'Boys came awfully close but attempting a 60-yard field goal? Shades of Ray Finkle. Dak and TB12 looked great as we recap the game. Mike shares a motivational story from Jimmy Johnson, we preview the Bears "mudholing" at the Rams and we talk about the significance of sports after tragic events such as 9/11. The boys travel to Portland, Ore., to visit with family-owned Venne Plumbing. We talk with Ryan, Lindsay and Emma about running a family-owned plumbing business. I mean, what do they even talk about at Thanksgiving dinner? We talk to Emma, as she just received her journeyman's license at the age of 24! Good on her! The Venne's were also very helpful in volunteering after a wildfire erased 300 homes in Otis, Ore., just minutes from the coast. Get to know the Vennes as they are doing some great things in the Pacific Northwest.

The boys head down to Big D to talk with Mike Fisher. Mike has covered the NFL since 1983 and the Dallas Cowboys since 1990. He is the author of two best-selling books on the Cowboys and is the Cowboys "insider" as a radio personality on the team's flagship station 105.3 The Fan. Mike will be a frequent guest on our Friday Niagara SportsHub podcast as we discuss all things sports, including fantasy football. In this episode, Mike talks about the Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones, Dak Prescott, Troy Aikman, Tony Romo, Michael Irvin, and what he really thinks about Skip Bayless.

The boys talk to Green Beret turned Cherne general manager, Dave Biron. With the company the past seven years, Dave talks about how he got started at Cherne — a manufacturer of test-ball plugs — and how he moved the company to a new 130,000-sq.-ft. facility, all during a pandemic. What makes his journey so interesting is that Dave followed in his dad's footsteps and joined the military, yet he graduated West Point and became a Green Beret with missions all around the world. Oh, and what's a test-ball plug? Yeah, we explain that.

Now that the border is open, the boys travel to Vancouver, British Columbia, to talk with the ever-youthful Terence Chan, owner, Impetus Plumbing and Heating LTD (@the__impetus). Okay, we didn't really travel there, but we did talk being a plumber in the millennial age, and how to attract those young people to the trades. A son of an arcade owner, Terence's career path took a right turn as he left his engineering studies to follow a path in the plumbing trade. Customer service and social media explored.

With the recent news of a possible new premise research plumbing program by the National Institute of Standards and Technology that will help to combat a 900% increase in Legionnaires’ disease since 2000, there's no better time to talk Legionella with one of the industry's foremost consultants and thought leaders on the subject. This week the boys visit with Tim Keane, Legionella Risk Management, Inc., as he informs the guys on all things Legionella—What is it? How it spread? Who's at risk? How can it be curtailed? What are the best methods to contain it? Cost justification vs. risk? Premise plumbing design? Plumbing codes and guidelines?
