It's Friday, and while we'd all like to be enjoying some CC&C, we talk with Michael Copp about a recent survey conducted by PHCC regarding contractors and the COVID-19 pandemic, and how it has affected their business. We also talk about the recent announcement that Michael is moving on from PHCC at the end of the year. Bummer; good luck, nonetheless!

May 19, 2021Learning Labs & The Skilled Labor Dilemma
Send us Fan Mail
This week we talk with Bob Clark, HVACR Program Chair at the College of DuPage, Glen Ellyn, Ill. Bob talks about his CTE program at the college, and he is damn proud of the fact that the lab is built from within, from the students. They need the smarts and aptitude to apply what they've learned in the classroom to the lab to the field—the real world—successfully. We also ask Bob the $1 million question: what are we doing we wrong in attracting young, skilled people into the trades? You don't want to miss what the outspoken Mr. Clark has to say. This real, opinionated discussion is really what we need to hear to help grow the industry and help fill the skilled trades gap.

April 28, 2021The Customer Is Always Right. Are they though?
Send us Fan Mail
We thought it would be fun to talk about customer experiences, as John talks with Eric Aune and Alan Carlson about their close encounters with the unusual customer — standing over you while you work, negotiating costs, unprepared clients, "I could've done it myself but I didn't have the time," interrupting sexy time and hoarders. This light-hearted conversation is bound to get a few laughs as we keep it light.

April 21, 2021Conceal & Carry on the Jobsite
Send us Fan Mail
After a plethora of shootings across the country, and one that recently took the lives of two HVAC techs in South Carolina, John flies solo on this podcast to talk with Jason Ridgeway, Ridgeway Home Services and Veterans Heating and Cooling, to discuss conceal and carry and carrying on the jobsite. This honest conversation tackles a topic that we think more contractors are partaking in, legally, of course.

Tim and John welcome back Bill Gray, president or Uponor North America, to discuss disruptions in the supply chain, in part due to the storms in Texas, those pesky Western Conifer Bugs and Uponor's commitment to the trades. Case in point, donating to the American Red Cross and Water Mission, and providing materials to contractors in the Lone Star State.
