#AndySchectman: Large #Silver Imports Leave Price In Positive Territory In 2023

As we pass the Thanksgiving mark in the 2023 trading year, after all that's happened, silver is back in positive territory on the year.

Contributing to the recent rally are the geopolitical issues in the Middle East, as well as concerns about the Treasury market in the US. Although large silver imports in the month of October are now another factor for the market to process, with India, China, and others importing large amounts of silver in the past month.

Of course the markets, and the #preciousmetals markets in particular don't always respond to the supply and demand fundamentals on a linear day to day basis. But when you also factor in a recent update from the Silver Institute that shows we're on track for anther yearly deficit in 2023, it does start to add up.

So in today's show with Andy Schectman of Miles Franklin, Andy talks about the latest news affecting gold and silver, more developments out of the BRICS nations as they continue to create infrastructure to facilitate trade outside of the dollar, and also the latest on premiums and precious metals order flow.

Vince Lanci: The COMEX Silver Dilemma...

Over the past year we've heard about the seemingly constant growth in industrial demand for silver, and how China is leading the charge in terms of their silver consumption. #Gold & #Silver Imports To India Surge In October

One of the biggest drivers of demand in the silver market in 2022 was a record-setting year of imports into India. That fueled a drain in the silver inventories on the #COMEX and LBMA, although the inventory levels were somewhat static over the past year as Indian silver demand in 2023 has been almost non-existent following the surge of demand in 2022.

However after months of low figures, both gold and silver import numbers surged in October, with India importing almost 4 million ounces of gold and 60 million ounces of silver. At the same time, the LBMA showed its first inventory decline of the year, as 39 million ounces of silver were removed from their vaults.

In today's show we look at the precious metals flows over the past month, and talk about how the gold and silver prices have responded since the breakout of a new conflict in the Middle East. Steve Cope of Silver Viper Minerals also talks about some of the latest projections from the Silver Institute, and where we stand with the potential end of the Federal Reserve's interest rate hiking campaign.

#RafiFarber - Rate Hikes are Over, Silver Responds

It took a year and a half, but the rate-hiking cycle that began in March 2022 is finally over. Rate cuts are now being priced in to Fed futures, and one bank is even predicting 275 basis points of cuts next year.

But even that "extreme" prediction probably isn't extreme enough, because the second we hit the next financial crisis, rates will probably drop right back to zero. And we will most likely hit that crisis when remaining liquidity dries up in just a few months.

As the reality of no more tightening sunk in, gold and silver stocks exploded higher this week. If they reacted so strongly on the realization of no more rate hikes, imagine how strongly they'll react when the Federal Reserve cuts right back down to zero.
