Around The 412

Smitty and Tyler discuss all the latest surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers. On today's episode we tackle some questions from social media including going forward with Justin Fields as opposed to Russell Wilson, what that might look like from a financial perspective, adding offensive talent to the roster, Jim Rooney's comments, the idea of drafting Ashton Jeanty and if we'd give up our memories as Steelers fans to have the bright future of the Washington Commanders. Let's discuss all of this and more!

Smitty and Tyler are back to talk all things Pittsburgh Penguins! The team has continued their up and down season, winning two of three since we last recorded. Alex Nedeljkovic made history by scoring a goal over the weekend. Marcus Pettersson has been a hot name on the NHL Trade Market and just might be playing his best hockey of his career as the deadline nears. Anthony Beauvillier has scored 12 goals this season and played a nice utility role for the Pens that could see him be utilized as a valuable trade piece as well. Beyond them, it will be interesting to see who Kyle Dubas looks to move out as he reshapes this roster and tries to get them back to contention still in the Sidney Crosby window. Join us for another Penguins Show, and let's discuss!

Smitty and Tyler are back to talk all things Pittsburgh Penguins! The team has continued their season of high highs and low lows as of late. They seem allergic to closing out games. What works for them for the first 50 minutes just seems to totally collapse as the stakes get higher in the course of a game. How much change will this lead to? Well, it's already started. The team appears to finally have reached the point the fanbase did several seasons ago with Tristan Jarry, after placing him on waivers. He's already cleared, but he's been sent down to the AHL and Joel Blomqvist has been brought back up. It sounds like he will get an extended look up here. Beyond Marcus Pettersson, who we expect to be moved, who else could Kyle Dubas look to move at the NHL Trade Deadline? Join us for another Penguins Show, and let's discuss!

Smitty and Tyler discuss all the latest surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers. The team's season has come to an end following another Wild Card weekend loss. This one came at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens and was the fifth consecutive loss for the team. We aren't here to discuss that specific game to much degree, but rather the bigger picture. Plenty are calling for Mike Tomlin's firing, but that's not happening. Let's dive into some change that could be impactful, and we do think could take place. Let's discuss some shakeup that we could see both to the coaching staff and to the roster. Let's discuss all of this and more!

Smitty and Tyler are back to talk all things Pittsburgh Penguins! The team has put together a nice little stretch of hockey to find themselves sitting just outside of a wild card spot. They secured 5 of 6 possible points over the last week and continue to get scoring from up and down the lineup. Rickard Rakell and Bryan Rust continue to find the back of the net with regularity, and they've really found something playing on opposite ends of Sidney Crosby. The team lost Marcus Pettersson for an unknown period of time with an injury and in wake of that made a move to re-acquire PO Joseph. Will he factor into their lineup on a daily basis? How would we put together the lines & pairings? Join us for another Penguins Show, and let's discuss!

Smitty and Tyler discuss all the latest surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers. The team dropped the PA rivalry game in a dominant performance from the Philadelphia Eagles. A performance that shows just how good the Eagles are and where the Steelers are hopefully heading as they re-tool the roster under their model. Up next for the Steelers? A divisional matchup with the Baltimore Ravens in Baltimore, with an opportunity to clinch the division on the line. Will the team's run of dominance over the Ravens continue or will the Ravens right the ship and keep their AFC North hopes alive? Will the team have TJ Watt, George Pickens, DeShon Elliott, Donte Jackson and Larry Ogunjobi available to them in this pivotal game? Let's discuss all of this and more!

Smitty and Tyler are back to talk all things Pittsburgh Penguins! The team has actually had a nice little run as of late. They've won 5 of their last 7 and find themselves back into the wildcard mix. The biggest factor in this is just that the goaltending (while still not good) has at least somewhat stabilized, and they aren't sinking the ship. Contributions from Blake Lizotte, Philip Tomasino and Michael Bunting have been very welcomed as well. They seem to be getting more regular guys involved in the scoresheet on a nightly basis, but Sidney Crosby's point per game streak may be in jeopardy. Right now, he's on pace to finish with 74 points. Are we concerned? Join us for another Penguins Show, and let's discuss!

Smitty and Tyler discuss all the latest surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers. The team got a measure of revenge by beating the Cleveland Browns on Sunday to improve to 10-3 on the season. They did so without George Pickens, which will be the case for at least one more game. What should the plan of attack be without their most talented pass catcher? DeShon Elliott and Larry Ogunjobi will both try to work their way back after suffering injuries on Sunday. What did we make of the offensive, defensive and special teams performances this past week? How do we see them finishing out this tough stretch ahead of the playoffs? Let's discuss all of this and more!

Smitty is flying solo on this one to discuss the Pittsburgh Steelers' win over the Cincinatti Bengals on Sunday and go over the Hard Knocks premiere. Russell Wilson and the offense moved the ball with ease against a porous Bengals' defense. Arthur Smith and Russ had a great gameplan and the yards and points were both easy to come by. TJ Watt, Nick Herbig and Donte Jackson all got takeaways for a Steelers defense that continues to create turnovers amongst the league's best. Sure, they allowed Joe Burrow, Tee Higgins and Ja'Marr Chase to get theirs, but they made enough plays to win in a shootout. Mike Tomlin quickly became the star of the Hard Knocks in-season series. It's easy to see why so many gravitate towards him and it was awesome to get an inside look at how these organizations go about their business to prepare for each game. Let's discuss all of this and more!

Smitty and Tyler are back to talk all things Pittsburgh Penguins! The team has dropped back-to-back games and sits in last place of the Metropolitan Division. Despite them trending in the wrong direction over the last few seasons, this is a totally new low under Mike Sullivan. Sidney Crosby isn't even on pace to be a point per game player this season. They're not getting the secondary scoring they were at the beginning of the season. They have arguably the league's worst combination of defense and goaltending as well. Other than that, things are going great! After making a trade for Phillipp Tommasino and apparently being in the mix for David Jiricek, what direction is Kyle Dubas trying to go? Are him and Mike Sullivan aligned in their vision? Join us for another Penguins Show, and let's discuss!
