We love dropping in these old school radio shows from the Around the House archives every once in a while.

This episode is back from March 19 2016 and we had a special guest call into the radio show. Dave Kindig from Kindigit Design called into the radio show to talk about the trades and his cars at the Portland Roadster Show. You might have seen his show on MotorTrend TV on cable as it is one of the top automotive shows on tv today.

About Dave: Dave has led the field with his unique skills and vision to craft truly one-of-a-kind customs. They say car design is an art form with few real masters, but from concept and design to build and the finished product, what Dave Kindig does isn’t just restoring these rides. With his concepts and vision, keeping to the classic lines, and the help of his Kindig-it design team; these rides are built, improved, and modernized to reflect the best version that these rides can be.

When asked what Dave’s favorite build is, his answer is: “The next one”. To Dave, each component of Kindig-it design, these rides, the process, and getting to know the clients and attachment they have behind these works of art allows him to approach each facet of Kindig-it with fresh eyes. To him, this isn’t just work. He feels fortunate to be able to wake up every day, pursue his dream and do what he loves with those he loves. Beside him in pursuing this dream of his is his wife Charity, Daughter, Baylee, and Son, Drew – making this truly a family business. More than that, the team beside him at Kindig-it design contributes to that family dynamic.

Thanks for tuning into this old school episode of Around the Hosue with Handyman Bob and Eric G.

Low VOC products are not all alike, It’s understandable that the claims of low VOCs (volatile organic compounds) or no VOCs can become confusing. VOCs are only one component of a coating – every ingredient must be evaluated for its effect on your health.

We dive into paint with Jay Watts from AFM Safecoat. Everyone agrees a new coat adds life to any project. But is it worth the odor? One whiff of paint, primer, varnish, stain or other like-products can bring on a range of conditions from mild nasal irritation, headaches and nausea to serious respiratory issues. Personal sensitivities vary and many simply do their best to ignore the odor.

AFM products are continually reformulated to virtually eliminate physical afflictions caused by conventional coatings. Many people suffer with severe allergies, chemical sensitivities, respiratory issues and other complications that make using conventional products intolerable.

We talk with VP and Technical Director Jay Watts from AFM Safecoat in this episode of Around the House.

One of he hottest questions each week seems to be about one of the songs in the radio show or podcast. Today we take you behind the music with the names, the songs, and the stories behind the music of Around the House. The Sledgehammer contractor is back that made news a few months ago. This is the one that broke into the house of Amber Trucke and destroyed her bathroom over their own low quality work and ever changing payment schedule. They were charged with crimes for that and now they started a GoFundMe to try to find an attorney that will keep them out of jail and put some money in their pockets. We talk about that story and so much more in this weeks mid-week special of Around the House!
