  • Thomas Haden Church From The Movie AcidMan
Maggie (Dianna Agron) arrives at a small, run-down house in the middle of nowhere to find it defaced by big orange letters reading ACIDMAN and learns that this is the locals' nickname for her reclusive father (Thomas Haden Church). After a decade apart, Maggie's offhand explanation for her visit is that she just wanted to check in on him, but this doesn't ring true considering how difficult he was to find. The two awkwardly want to get to know one another (Dad seems more comfortable talking through his dog Migo, or through Bobby, Maggie's childhood sock puppet friend), but are at the same time scared about what increasing familiarity will bring. After Dad reluctantly brings her on one of his nighttime outings, Maggie realizes that his obsession with UFOs and communicating with extraterrestrial beings has only intensified over the years. She struggles to understand him, his single-mindedness and deteriorating mental health, all the while with her own life-changing news to share. Letting their relationship ebb and flow through anger, silly jokes, tender gestures, and sadness, the film is a beautiful meditation on the cyclical nature of parenthood and the longing for connection.

  • Justin Bourne Releases The Book Down And Out
Down and Back tells broadcaster Justin Bourne's story of following his Hall-of-Fame father not only to the NHL, but also into rehab. Bob Bourne was everything a son wants to emulate-an NHL All-Star, a Sports Illustrated "Sportsman of the Year," a Stanley Cup champion. Justin Bourne followed in those huge footsteps, leading his teams in scoring year after year, and finally garnering an invitation to the New York Islanders' training camp-the same team his father had played for. But Bourne was also following his father down a darker path. Though he hadn't begun drinking until he was 21, by 36 his drinking had nearly swamped his career and his marriage. In an act of brutal self-honesty-which may not have been possible if not for his understanding of how lying spurred by alcoholism can cause a family pain-Bourne got help, got sober, and confronted what his father and the game mean to him. Down and Back is a frank and unflinching appraisal of the game and Bourne's relationship with it: the violence and danger, the booze and drugs, the consequences of fame. But it is also an honest look at what is redeeming about the sport, through the eyes of someone who grew up in NHL dressing rooms, who has skated on NHL ice as both a player and a coach, and who inherited the game from a man he's grown to better understand by looking more closely at himself.

  • Alex Stapleton Director Of Reggie On Prime Video
Reggie, an intimate and revealing new documentary that examines the career and legacy of Major League Baseball Hall of Famer and activist Reggie Jackson, premieres exclusively on Prime Video on March 24. The film is the definitive, firsthand account of five-time World Series Champion, beloved New York icon, and one of baseball’s most influential superstars as he contemplates his legacy as a trailblazing Black athlete fighting for dignity, respect, and a seat at the table. Over the course of his life and barrier-breaking career, Jackson witnessed a dramatic shift in race relations across America: Starting his career in Birmingham at the height of the civil rights movement, moving to Oakland during the rise of the Black Panther Party, and landing in New York City as the highest-paid player in baseball as the Bronx was burning. Now, against the backdrop of today’s increasingly divided world, he sits down with fellow legends Julius “Dr. J” Erving, Hank Aaron, Derek Jeter, and more to discuss their own experiences, how far we’ve really come, and the leagues they want to leave behind for future generations.

  • Scott Adkins From John Wick Chapter 4
Lionsgate has dropped its third and final trailer for "John Wick: Chapter 4." The Keanu Reeves-led action franchise is the brightest bright spot on Lionsgate's theatrical slate and their most obvious hope for a 2023 breakout. To those in the know, the likes of Chinese action-god Donnie Yen (also seen by Americans in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," "Shanghai Knights" and "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage") and direct-to-DVD and VOD action king Scott Adkins (also seen by American theatergoers in "Doctor Strange" and "Expendables 2") qualify as added value elements. The film will give these folks a higher-profile platform, at least in terms of mainstream Hollywood audiences, to show off their star power. Clancy Brown showing up and subtly riffing on his "Highlander" appearance is for fans old enough to have kids who can buy an R-rated movie ticket sans parent or guardian. Directed by Chad Stahelski, "John Wick: Chapter 4" sees the beleaguered not-so-retired hitman accepting an offer from the High Council to settle his life debt. The last three "Wick" flicks pulled near-unprecedented commercial growth, going from $88 million worldwide in 2014, to $171 million in 2017, to $322 million in 2019. In pre-COVID times, the big questions were whether a fourth chapter could continue that momentum and whether the franchise would expand its overseas muscle. "John Wick: Chapter 4" opens theatrically on March 24th
