Arroe Collins Like It's Live

Hey it’s Arroe and this is Pod-fest 8.
A couple of conversations with people we know either through entertainment, politics, science, medical or by helping us put our lives back in order. They’re played back to back. I’ve learned that podcast listening isn’t always about a four minute song. The lyrics we share in the everyday world make being a part of this new age of content incredibly special and these guests always bring their story.
On this episode we’re going to spend some time with television sports announcer Al Michaels and Alan Williams, ½ of the creative team behind a podcast dedicated solely to the 60’s Pop band The Monkees.
First Al Michaels. Just over five years ago he put him thumb prints on the pages of a new book titled YOU CAN’T MAKE THIS UP. In his words it covers it all; the thrilling victories, the agonizing defeats and all of the fantastic inside stories including the surprising birth date information he received from Charlie Hustle.
Alan Williams is no stranger to the past and present history of The Monkees. In 2017 I sat down with him at a Panera Bread. Mainly because I was with what was turning out to be the next generation of Broadcasting. Podcasting has turned childhood wishes and dreams into physical broadcasts that reach around the world. Not everybody is a Monkees fan. Yet a lot of everyday people know who they are. Alan Williams has teamed up with another collector and Monkee follower to create one of the most dynamic shows bouncing off the walls and back onto this giant big blue marble. The Texas Chicken Prairie Home Companion.

Hey it’s Arroe and this is Pod-fest 7.
On this episode we’re going to spend some time with the late Senator John McCain who in December of 2014 brought us the book Thirteen Soldiers.
From their acts of self-sacrifice to their astonishing bravery, these thirteen soldiers embody the best America has to offer.
Speaking of history. John’s conversation will be followed by Sharon Robinson. The daughter of baseball legend Jackie Robinson. Sharon had incredible access to some of the most important events of the era, including her family attending the March on Washington as guests of Martin Luther King Jr. But Robinson was also grappling with her own personal problems like going through puberty and being one of the only black children in her wealthy Connecticut neighborhood.
