NASA's Artemis II rocket has taken off in a historic launch on Florida's Space Coast, sending humans back to the moon for the first time in more than 50 years. 

Kings County abruptly ended fire protection services for the city of Avenal after leaders clashed over a boxing event held in an unfinished community center. Avenal is now seeking six months of continued coverage as officials argue over safety, liability, and the future of emergency services for more than 13,000 residents.
