October 12, 2022Horrible Customer Service Experience and Lessons Learned for Artists to Protect Their Files.
Jules, Rachel, and Stephanie discuss a terrible experience where Julie was locked out of her Adobe Profile because a hacker got into her account and changed her password. The lack of customer support from Adobe led to a number of discoveries we discuss.
If you have a question you'd like us to discuss feel free to email us at [email protected]
Key talking points:
DO NOT KEEP YOUR FILES ONLY ON THE CLOUD.
Save your images in 3 different places:
Backup to hard drive (like an SSD Portable)
Another hard drive in a separate location
And a cloud-based backup service.
Save PSD files as TIFs.
Save Illustrator files as EPS files.
Enable 2 Factor Authentication for all of your cloud-based systems.
We'd love to hear about your experiences with terrible customer service and what you learned from the situation, email us at [email protected]

NEW Artist To Watch
Jodi Nuttal is a fabulous pastel artist.
Go To Her:Instagram to see her fabulous work!
Key talking points:
Find what works for you to network.
You have to reach out rather than waiting on someone to contact you.
BNI - Business Networking International is a program we have tried and found success in, but it is not necessarily comfortable for Introverts.
Are we struggling even more with networking because of the pandemic?
If you want to experience growth, you will have to grow yourself and extend into what you are not comfortable with.
Get good friends to bail you out if you get stuck with someone who won't stop talking.
Think about ways to get out of the conversation.
We'd love to hear about your experiences in networking and what works for you, email us at [email protected]

September 26, 2022Interview with Audra King who talks about How To Follow the Fun!
Jules, Rachel, and Stephanie have a very special guest with them, Audra King from She Loves Her Biz to chat with us about how to find the fun in your creative business again!!
If you have a question you'd like us to discuss feel free to email us at [email protected]
Key talking points:
Don't follow the 'shoulds'. And what are some ways to focus on what's important to you and not the 'shoulds'.
Omit the noise: perhaps take a break from Instagram or other social media.
To find the fun: the first thing to consider is what you want and then balance your schedule around that.
For Finding the fun in Marketing Audra recommends Brit Kolo's resource called "Marketing for your Personality Type".
Julie hates Networking who is an INTJ. So it is great to find things that DON'T work and then work towards what would work based on her personality.
Stephanie is an ENTJ - does a weekly artisan market show where she paints and talks about the paintings and pets. And while she's there collects email addresses to continue the relationship.
She doesn't have joy in Instagram but does in Facebook.
Rachel enjoys Facebook Group because of the interactions and Google Ads where there are no interactions.
For the negative comments, be above and beyond by providing the information or a link to the answer that was previously provided.
How to make sales fun?
The key question is: Does the energy you are putting in equal the compensation you receive?

NEW Artist To Watch
Elizabeth https://www.lzbthcreative.com/
A watercolor artist who is inspired by nature.
Key talking points:
We do have support but it doesn't always feel that way.
Since COVID the spouses have gotten to see what is in an art business - and 'coloring', 'painting' doesn't appear like work.
Community is super important to break down to, support, or bounce ideas with.
With a community, you have to be vulnerable so people can help.
Voice what you need.
Search for groups on Facebook, local art leagues, and local art museum.
If you don't have time here is what we recommend:
Recognize that it is a season and it will change
Identify ways to save time (order groceries)
We'd love to hear what do you to get support, email us at [email protected]

August 03, 2022Procrastination, the artists evil. Do you succumb procrastination?
Jules, Rachel, and Stephanie discuss procrastination and what they do and don't do - perhaps this will resonate with you (I rhymed there :) !
If you have a question you'd like us to discuss feel free to email us at [email protected]
Key talking points:
Stephanie: her personality requires her to be doing something all the time, but she does find she procrastinates on painting because of potential interruptions
Jule: if she is the one setting the deadlines, she'll easily push it off. But if she owes it to someone, she'll stay on task.
This is where I coach or accountability can help you not push off the deadlines that move you forward.
Rachel's procrastination comes from going down rabbit holes, and squirrel moments.
Draw out the 4 quadrants to determine what is important and urgent to meet the goals (Urgent-Important, Urgent - Not important, Not Urgent - Important, Not Urgent - Not important)
Advice: Flip the narrative - make a goal of nos instead of yeses. Take the shots like Michael Jordan.
Advice: Take imperfect actions.
Advice: If you are really struggling moving forward find a coach that will hold you accountable, who specializes in your niche, and who is not a friend, who can be objective.
We'd love to hear what do you do to overcome procrastination, email us at [email protected]
