Ascent industries a Specialty Chemicals company that has emerged from a multi-year turnaround following a proxy contest and the sale of their Stainless Tubing business in June of this year. Today, the Chemicals business produces specialty chemicals for the carpet, chemical, paper, metals, mining agricultural, fiber, paint, textile automotive, petroleum, cosmetics, mattress, furniture, janitorial and other industries. Ascent operates three manufacturing sites in the Southeastern US all near Tennessee and North Carolina. Ascent can be viewed as the company that cleans up the breadcrumbs of the larger chemical companies. They have a high degree of recurring revenue from blue-chip customers as the chemical processes are too niche and not-scalable. From here, the cash from steel asset sales will be redeployed into the higher-margin specialty chemical segment, and strategic acquisitions with increased emphasis on branded products are central to the company's go-forward strategy. https://ascentco.com
