Hollywood's had a lot of trouble lately.  Especially the TV side.  Seems that nobody wants to watch terrible garbage, which is a problem when that's your main export.  Remember the British Invasion, when the UK stepped up and replaced all our bad music with their good music?  Apparently that's finally happening to mainstream movies and TV shows, except instead of British it's Asian.  An Asian Invasion, if you will.  It's also more fun to say.
