Sometimes when you get so invested into learning something, especially off social media and online. You may find yourself going down a rabbit and getting a little too caught up in thinking how are people are doing it is the right way for you. But when it comes to fitness and your body, everyone is different.
This episode, Amelia speaks about her once being someone who never once thought anything her own body image and appearance. But once getting into the fitness world with a passion to achieve high results in her fitness journey, everything changed for her. She eventually got lead down a rabbit hole of extreme dieting, being overly consumed by the diet culture and had a really unhealthy mindset about what she thought was “healthy”.
When are you in this cycle in believing that everything that you are doing to your body is good for it, you don't realise how clouded by these fitness recommendations that may not be suited to getting to your fitness goals.
Amelia talks through her experiences being stuck in the diet culture and what it felt like at the time. This is something she once was ashamed to speak about but now passionately wants to help others that are either going through the same thing or is look at losing weight.
There are many ways to do it but extreme calorie deficits and cutting calories is not the best approach. Obviously this is not any sort of professional advice. Just a story from someone who was caught up in a never ending diet culture cycle and now wants to share the story to help many others have a better understanding of a better approach and better mindset to dieting and keeping fit. Also how to just love your body for what it can do for you.
