Last week I discussed Pluto square the nodes, which we can say is active for at least July and August. We now have Chiron and Venus stationing retrograde, active into September. These transits, combined with Black Moon Lilith (BML), now conjunct Venus as she stations, point to this time period as an underworld, death/resurrection opportunity/experience. Both Pluto and BML are underworld characters, Chiron died and resurrected, and in today's report, I speak of Inanna, who also descended and rose again from the underworld. 

In astrology, the underworld is associated with Pluto, Scorpio, and the 8th house. It is where we confront, yield, or conquer "forces beyond our control." These are many and varied. And whether we win or lose, the confrontation requires that we go down and dig deep within ourselves (into the root chakra) to summon up the power of the life force in order to survive. We discover new sources of power within ourselves as a result.

The stars now point to this as a transition period from an old life/identity to a new expression of our more powerful Leonine self. This is not a walk in the park. The confrontation can occur in any one (or more) of the twelve houses of your birth chart. The matters of the other 11 may continue to go smoothly, but somewhere in your life right now, you are being asked to let go, surrender, submit, expose, and humble yourself to be reborn anew. To summarize what I discussed in this week's report, I'll repeat that we are in the closing phase of several cycles before the beginning of new ones. These are Moon's nodes completing a 1.5-year transit of Scorpio/Taurus, Venus completing a 584-day synodic cycle (with the Sun), and the Moon closing her monthly cycle this week.

The balsamic phase of any cycle is a time period of dissolution and letting go that is often accompanied by feelings of confusion, emptiness, and doubt. Think of the end of a relationship, school, or living arrangement to get an idea of what I mean. On the other hand, astrology tells us that there is another, new cycle that begins immediately following the end of the old.

Hence this week's mantra. The intention of this mantra is to focus more energy on preparing for the next new cycle rather than on what is old, leaving, or gone. Not that it is either/or, as there are lessons to contemplate and learn from every cycle, but there can be a tendency for people to dwell on the old/negative. Let's not!

Oh, My Goodness! I went through this whole report without commenting on Mars going into Virgo! As I have mentioned in previous reports, we've had a beautiful Venus/Mars conjunction going on for a month as they have been traveling together through Leo. This conjunction will be coming to a close as Venus slows down to retrograde and Mars moves on through Virgo.

As I did discuss in this report, the big emphasis is on Mercury this week, and Mars moving into Mercury-ruled Virgo only adds more weight to it. Mercury, our analytical, linear, and logical left brain, is like the captain of our egoic earthly body/ship that sets the course, connects us with others, and steers us through life.

Operating in the 3D along with Mars in Virgo, it's time to look at our health, daily routines, and jobs and take steps to purify, correct, improve and align ourselves with our deeper soul intentions. As Mercury is in Leo, we need to do some creative thinking! We need to make new plans and meet up with some new friends. In doing so, we will discover new talents and capacities to carry us toward the north node in Taurus so we not only survive but thrive. Put on those thinking caps and go!

Ya know what? WE are the union of opposites! We contain the six major polarities within us, as revealed by our birth charts. Not only that, but it's a very graphic representation of reality as the 12 houses (composed of 6 opposites) get larger and larger the farther away they get from the center, which symbolizes the core of our being. Balancing those six major polarities in our psyche/soul brings us to the center of our being, and I like to think up, up, up, and outta here!

So this week, with the Cancer Sun/Mercury (all week) opposite the Capricorn Moon (Monday), we all get to balance the polarity of our personal lives (Cancer) with our professional lives (Capricorn). I call this Cancer/Capricorn polarity the "security axis," with Cancer being emotional and Capricorn being physical/financial security. Remaining centered in this polarity requires that we balance our need for action and achievement/recognition in the outer world with honoring our inner emotional needs for home, roots, and safety.

This represents another polarity in addition to what I discussed in the video, that of the left brain (linear/logical/rational) with the right brain (intuitive). On top of that, we have the full Moon (feelings and inner child) opposite Mercury (thinking and communicating), so that's a lot of balancing going on! The opposition indicates tension between the opposites, but as mentioned, this tension leads to conscious awareness. Let's all step into the light!

Life on earth is a merry-go-round,

Orbiting round the Sun.

But to truly experience all that I am,

I must also go up and down.

As I read in the Sabian symbol for the first degree of Cancer (where the Sun is today and Mercury will be Monday), this is a time period where personal freedom of choice is favored and supported. The first six signs of the zodiac, Aries through Virgo, are archetypes wherein the evolutionary impulse imparted from the cosmic totality symbolized by Pisces is planted and begins to grow through the personality to be revealed, experienced, and given to the greater whole of society and eventually the universe from Libra through Pisces. We now have all the personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Mars) in the personal signs between Gemini and Virgo this week, not to mention the Moon’s nodes, Jupiter in Taurus and Chiron in Aries.

Again, as the Sabian symbol reflects, the collective will overpower the individual in the end. Still, before that time, we have the opportunity to grow independently, develop, and blossom to offer our fruit to benefit the whole. We could almost say that this week demands that we take the helm, steer, decide, and command our future direction. Take a big breath, hold your nose, and jump!

Please don’t say that you don’t have any decisions to make. Every day, every moment, every breath is a decision. An attitude, a belief, a hope, a loss, forgiveness, these are all decisions. Let’s not limit our thinking to materialistic realms where decisions only concern physical outcomes, goals, and relationships. We are forever choosing to evolve, discover deeper aspects of our inner nature, or stagnate. Let’s leap like that water off the mountain and return to the ocean of oneness.

To sum up this week’s astrology, it’s the start of a new lunar cycle perfect for writing new songs, poetry, pros, blogs, making new friends, painting, meditating, and injecting our lives with spirit magic. It is not such a good week for signing contracts, making business deals, financial planning, spreadsheets, or promises.

The square of the New Moon to Neptune can make us a bit lazy, dreamy, and naïve. We can see the world through rose-colored glasses, projecting more of what we want to see than what is really there. For artists and creative spirits, this is a familiar realm where they can thrive. In general, though, many may fall prey to illusions, deception, and even depression, with Mercury square Saturn sensing into the Neptunian collective unconscious unknowingly.

So yes, take it slow, easy, and meditatively. Looking before you leap, contemplating each step, you may find diamonds of wisdom, love, and compassion along the path of life. Taking time to smell the roses and enjoy the sunshine, a beautiful balance between being and doing is experienced. Accepting that life is a never-ending process can also help us relax into it and not be brought down when things don’t go as planned.

Well, I hate to say it, but I think there has been some conscious (as well as unconscious) guilt-tripping these past few years, making people feel bad if they are having fun! Like it is somehow our social responsibility to reduce our lives, our consumption, our travel, and our enjoyment, or we are damaging the environment, or we might get other people sick, or, or, or. This is a very "anti-Leo" approach to living. Sadly, I believe we will be seeing a lot more of it as Leo will be the shadow (polar opposite) of the age of Aquarius.

I will say that with all the astrology I have done over the years and as long as I have been following the planetary cycles, this is one of the best weeks ever! What do I mean by that? I mean that it is a week where you may meet someone special who arrives in your life at this time to heal, teach, or point you in the direction of your soul’s evolutionary path. If not a person, keep your eye out for a new teacher, set of teachings, workshops, videos, or blogs that come your way, as the future is positively impacting the present right now.

If you are seeking deeper meaning, purpose, or intention in your life these days, pay super close attention not only to what appears in your outside world but also in your inside world. Your guidance may come through your body with the Jupiter/node and Mercury/Uranus conjunctions, both happening in Taurus, the sign of our physical bodies. Our bodies are our teachers, constantly giving us subtle hints (that can grow into symptoms) when we are on/off track. Listening inwardly can bring a wealth of guidance and info on which way to go and with whom.

While the full Moon in Sag traditionally favors both short and long-distance travel, with today’s technology, “foreign” (new and unfamiliar) ideas, inspiration, and understanding can come via the internet if you’re not mobile. The Jupiterian expansion can also come through the creative process of manifesting your heart’s desire. We can “learn by doing,” as any artist will tell you! When you express yourself, you see yourself, can change yourself, and develop new avenues, awareness, and techniques as you evolve and discover yourself. So go for it!

Well, the volcanoes are blowing today! In Italy and Mexico, mother nature is blowing her horn. Awake! The Spirit world again reminds us that so much more is going on than our screens tell us. So much more to life than news, movies, and chats. The farther we drift away from the natural rhythm of life, from the silence, stillness, and the slowness of organic unfolding, the farther we are from peace, harmony, and connection.

We just got bombarded with Pluto and Jupiter pouncing on Mars, almost like a passing ship getting broadsided. Now Venus will square Chiron, and the Sun will square Saturn to slow us down, bring us in, and take us home. Don't resist it and end up getting dragged home on a stretcher. FEEL the call within, relax, and trust life to support and hold you, and you will experience the joy of being lifted by wings other than your own.

There is as much, if not more, magic happening than darkness spreading. Look for, embrace, speak of, and share it. We're being called now to function as resources, battery chargers for those less connected, and medics for the wounded. It is as if the Sun is bringing down a message he received from Saturn in the infinite realms of Pisces. We are the messengers. Let this Sun, through Gemini, signal the spreading of the good word, not divisiveness, judgment, and blame. This is an opportune week for putting your plans into action, connecting with like-minded souls, and building community. Let's go for it!

I need to create an outlet,

What an intensely exciting week lies ahead! I say this with some caution as with this much energy swirling around, things can go amazingly well or amazingly not. It can be likened to “overexposure.” Too much sun can burn you, too much rain can flood you, and sound too loud can make you deaf. In this case, we have a lot of raw, primal energy, which can be super constructive or cause havoc if not consciously directed. Some folks may be overwhelmed with the pace and intensity of life and get physically exhausted/sick. Others may be overwhelmed with emotions ranging from ecstasy to anger but unable to control themselves or stay centered.

I believe the saving grace for this Jupiter/Pluto/Mars T-square happening at zero degrees of the fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius) is both Venus, now in watery Cancer and the Sun moving with the Moon into Gemini, the twins. Venus in Cancer reflects sympathetic understanding, and Gemini brings objective flexibility to our thinking and communication.

In today’s report, I mentioned the opportunity for UNDERstanding to be gained through counterpoint awareness and polarity. There can be major breakthroughs in understanding the “other,” ourselves, and our shadows, PROVIDED WE LISTEN to other’s points of view rather than force ours onto them. This is the difference between power (Pluto) vs. force (Mars). Force seeks its own aims regardless of the effects on others and can cause damage. Power is more conscious and intentional. Use your power wisely!
