Rachael Gunn, better known as ‘RayGun’ is Australia’s top-ranked B-girl.

She’s always had a love for dancing, but it wasn’t until her twenties that she fell in love with breaking.

Coming fresh off victory in the 2023 Oceania Breaking Championships, RayGun is ready to dance her way into the Paris Games, where breaking will make its Olympic debut.

By day Raygun is a full-time university lecturer and has combined her passion for feminism with her love of breaking to write a PHD on the intersection of gender and Sydney’s breaking culture.

We caught up with Rachael as she was preparing her final moves in the lead up to the Paris Games. This chat is so interesting, especially if you don’t know much about breaking and we hope it gets you ready to cheer on RayGun and the other B Girls in just a few days time on August 9.
