E.B. Galloway is an accomplished poet-activist who identifies as a non-binary human with a fluid sexual orientation. In recognition of Anchorage’s annual PrideFest week, Galloway will discuss the conceptual distinctions between sex, gender, and orientation. This Forum will be an opportunity for us to open our hearts and minds, to reframe our understanding of human relationships, and to openly discuss questions we might never have imagined asking in earlier times

Bill Hall is a life-long Alaskan, a 30-year commercial salmon fisherman, and former mayor of Cordova. He’s served as the executive director of Governor Sheffield’s Fishery Policy Task Force, on the boards of the Cordova Aquatic Marketing Association and the United Fishermen of Alaska. After helping to establish aquaculture in Prince William Sound, he worked as a legislative aide to Sen. Jalmar Kerttula, writing the legislation that created the state salmon hatchery program.

This service is a celebration of and a reflection on our spiritual connection with trees as we welcome our Whalecoast guests.

He was the Democratic nominee for lieutenant governor in 2006, for Alaska's at-large congressional district in 2008 and for governor in 2010. He was elected mayor of Anchorage in 2015, and reelected to a second term in 2018.

Libby Roderick is an internationally recognized singer-songwriter who currently serves as director of the Difficult Dialogues Initiative and associate director of the faculty-teaching center at the University of Alaska Anchorage. She works with faculty members across the U.S. and South Africa to assist them in conducting difficult dialogues and to apply Indigenous ways of teaching and learning in the classroom. An Alaska Woman of Achievement and long-time activist, Libby is currently helping guide a partnership between the university and the municipality to establish a Climate Action Plan (CAP) for Anchorage.
