What we live FOR determines how we live, and the Kingdom of Heaven is more about what we are for, than what we are against.  As our lives behold the King and live for Him, we will find in the end that everything done and every day counted toward something much larger than anything in the world.

Every person of the Godhead has invested in and highlighted relationships, both God with man, and mankind with one another. The law is fulfilled as we love one another, and the prayer of Jesus is answered as we are united in love toward one another. The beauty of community and loving one another is unlike anything on the earth. It will change us forever and we will change the world as we intentionally love and give.

Everyone needs something to live and die for. We all need to have a vision for beyond us and this life that enables us to live fully while here. We all need reasons to live "For" something rather than "not doing things." God is eternal life and eternity, and getting to know Him and what He has for us, draws us into eternal living here and now.

Israel has finally reached their destination and begins to possess their inheritance by faith, by action and by staying clean internally. The same applies to us today as those within the New Covenant, with better promises and an inheritance to possess in the kingdom of God.

Even more important than sound doctrine and knowledge of God, is knowing and enjoying the person of Jesus daily.

The widow in 2 Kings 4 was afraid of being sold into slavery because she was unable to pay her debts. In desperation, she sought the prophet Elisha for help. He gave her specific instructions which led to an encounter of supernatural provision and transformation. In the same way, the principles laid out through this story provide a template for living a creative life of faith over fear.

Daniel Newton's message to the Awake Congregation

The Lord has demonstrated His power, delivered, provided and led His people to the place where they are poised to enter and obtain their inheritance - the promised land. However, the people refuse to believe that He is good and 'for' them. In their doubt they reject faith and rebel, which keeps them in a holding pattern for another 38 years. God must wait to use their children to obtain what was theirs to have and He rolls back the sin of Adam and leads them in.

In part 8 of this “Journey to Freedom” series, Matt shares about the Jews journey to Mt. Sinai, the Mountain of God. It is during this time when God begins speaking with Moses for weeks at a time and meeting with Israel, then having them construct a tabernacle in the midst of them so that He can be in the middle of all His chosen people. From the creation of Adam until this present day, God has desired to be among and in the midst of those who love Him. Today, we have become the ark or temple where God dwells and we were made to not just obey His voice, but to enjoy His presence daily. Walking, talking and living in Him.
