For episode 301, I’m joined by Maxance Vincent as this week's co-host, with producer Steve Prusakowski working behind the scenes on Emmy season content and, of course, TV Topics. This time around, I intro Max, who will be occasionally sitting in as we figure out the new post-Myles normal, and we talk Spider-Man: Brand New Day. My rave review of the film can be found here, and we get into what Marvel is doing right with this one, as opposed to what they've been misfiring with lately. I also touch on Tony (rave review here), which leads to some Matt Johnson and Nirvanna the Band the Show (and Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie) talk. Throw in your questions, some fall festival chatter, and hopefully the show isn't missing a beat...
As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our 301st one to date (here’s to many more). Of course, feel free to revisit the previous installments by clicking the Podcast tab (here) on the top of the page. Plus, listen to us on Apple Podcasts (iTunes), Spotify, and other platforms. More to come each and every single week (or close to it), so from the bottom of my heart, thank you for listening!
This is the big episode 300, and I’m joined once again by my co-host Myles Hughes, with producer Steve Prusakowski working behind the scenes on Emmy season content and, of course, TV Topics. For 300, Myles has seen The Odyssey (my rave review is here), so we get in deep with Christopher Nolan's latest. We also tackle Nolan's full filmography (my ranking is here), as well as several of your questions. Finally, we wrap with the announcement from Myles that he will be departing the show, with this being his final episode as a regular. So, be sure to wish him well, though he may return from time to time, when certain releases of note hit, like Resident Evil, etc. We may be taking next week off, but when we return, either next week or in August with 301 and beyond, there will be rotating guest co-hosts for a bit, as we figure out what works for the future of the show. Bear with us for a bit, though to be clear, the podcast is not ending, just reimagining things...
As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our 300th one to date (here’s to many more, in whatever form they take). Of course, feel free to revisit the previous installments by clicking the Podcast tab (here) on the top of the page. Plus, listen to us on Apple Podcasts (iTunes), Spotify, and other platforms. More to come each and every single week, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you for listening!
For episode 299, I’m joined once again by my co-host Myles Hughes, with producer Steve Prusakowski working behind the scenes on Emmy season content and, of course, TV Topics. This episode has me reporting to Myles about The Odyssey (rave review here) after seeing it on Monday and an earlier viewing of Tony (review to come) now that embargo on reactions has lifted. I also briefly mention Her Private Hell and Super Troopers 3, though The Odyssey and Tony are a much bigger focus. We also get into some of the bigger trailers that hit during the week, including Behemoth!, Digger, and I Play Rocky. Throw in some questions and we get to plenty, as next week brings episode 300, and an announcement you won't want to miss...

For episode 298, I’m joined once again by my co-host Myles Hughes, with producer Steve Prusakowski working behind the scenes on Emmy season content and, of course, TV Topics. This time around, we're hanging out and discussing what we watched over the July 4th holiday weekend. Now, some people go patriotic on the Fourth of July, while others head to the movies. Not us. I watched an eclectic mix of films that included My Blue Heaven, National Lampoon's Vacation, Rocky IV, and Streets of Fire, all of which are discussed within the episode. Myles, on the other hand, caught up on A Few Good Men, at last, but also subjected himself to The Flash. As for new releases, I've seen and reviewed (here) Evil Dead Burn, so we get into that as well. Throw in a few questions and some game chatter, and what we have is a nice mix of topics, as we close in on the big 300th episode...

For episode 297, I’m joined once again by my co-host Myles Hughes, with producer Steve Prusakowski working behind the scenes on Emmy season content and, of course, TV Topics. This episode finally features us discussing Disclosure Day, now that Myles has seen it. My rave review on the site can be found here. Besides debating the merits of Steven Spielberg's latest, we get into first half highlights. My article on the best films and performances from the first half of 2026 can be found here, with the horror edition coming on Sunday, featuring Myles' list as well. Throw in some questions and we're now on to the second half of the year, as episode 300 looms large...

For episode 296, I’m joined once again by my co-host Myles Hughes, with producer Steve Prusakowski working behind the scenes on Emmy season content and, of course, TV Topics. This time around, we start off on a sad note, as I talk a bit about the loss this week of my dog, Bentley. I wrote about him here, and he will be profoundly missed. After that, we're back on the movie train, discussing a variety of titles, including and older title like True Lies, as well as new/recent releases like Supergirl (reviewed here), They Will Kill You (reviewed here), and Toy Story 5 (reviewed here). Plus, I mention a July gem in I Want Your Sex. It's been a tough few days, so getting to this with Myles truly was a relief, so thank you for listening, and thank you for understanding as this episode dropped a bit later on in the week than usual...

For episode 295, I’m joined once again by my co-host Myles Hughes, with producer Steve Prusakowski working behind the scenes on Emmy season content and, of course, TV Topics. This episode does not feature our continued discussion of Disclosure Day, as that will happen next week. For now, my rave review is still here. Nor do we talk Toy Story 5, as I hadn't yet seen it at the time of recording. Look for that also to be handled next week. Instead, I'm hyping Myles up for a pair of upcoming summer releases in The Invite and Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma. The former he actually wanted me to sell him on, while the latter already had his interest, but my love for it (both really, but especially this one) now also has his attention. Throw in some questions and it's a very tight episode, as we lead up to episode 300, which will not be one to miss...

For episode 294, I’m joined once again by my co-host Myles Hughes, with producer Steve Prusakowski working behind the scenes on Emmy season content and, of course, TV Topics. This time around, we're beginning the conversation about Steven Spielberg's Disclosure Day. My rave review can be found here, and we talk a bit about my Spielberg movie ranking to be published on Friday, but this is just the start of our chat here. Next week, we'll get deeper into it, so prepare for at least light spoilers then. Myles has caught up with Masters of the Universe (my review is here) and Mortal Kombat II (reviewed here), so we discuss those, as well as Backrooms, which I've caught up on and reviewed here. Plus, I've seen Scary Movie (reviewed here), so that leads to a section on spoof movies. There's also some brief Tribeca talk, centered on In Memoriam, which I raved about here. Throw in a few of your questions and it's a rather focused episode...

For episode 293, I’m joined once again by my co-host Myles Hughes, with producer Steve Prusakowski working behind the scenes on Emmy season content and, of course, TV Topics. This episode, we get into the box office and cultural phenomenon that is Backrooms and Obsession. I wrote a bit about it here in the most recent Sunday Scaries column, while my Obsession review is here. Myles has seen both, while I'm about to catch up with Backrooms, so there's variety in our chat. I've also caught up on The Sheep Detectives, which I loved, and tell Myles all about Masters of the Universe (reviewed here). Throw in some questions and it's a tight little episode...

For episode 292, I’m joined once again by my co-host Myles Hughes, with producer Steve Prusakowski working behind the scenes on Emmy season content and, of course, TV Topics. This time around, we opted to record during the awards ceremony for the Cannes Film Festival. So, it's a Cannes hangout, where we talk about the festival's movies, as well as play some games related to previous award winners, while awaiting the Palme d'Or result, which ended up being Fjord. You can see all of what won here and my predictions (alongside Robert Hamer's) here. Additionally, we rank the Star Wars entries, drifting off of my new ranking here. It's a nice little episode, as we cruise towards episode 300, which will mark some changes. Stay tuned there, but for now, enjoy this one...
