Our goal this week was to make Charlotte as uncomfortable as possible and I think we achieved that. This week, the Babes took the infamous BDSM test and explored our kinks (drink every time Emily says “f*ck it up). Disclaimer: any healthy relationship is all about willing, enthusiastic, and continuous consent, and BDSM relationships are no different. We’re officially officially back from our summer break, so we start off the episode with all of our life updates from the past few months. Then, we reminisce on the good old days (besides the racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia…) where dating was easy! Emily shares some dating tips from back in the day to see if they still hold up. Having a chaperone on your date may sound out of touch, but it’s more common than you think! We also check in with our friend Mr. Josephus and his oddly specific thoughts on women’s underwear. We learn the 1920s were not about being fun or friendly, but the 1940s were…don’t worry, we’re confused too. We try to define “simple, wholesome flirting” (which we figure out just means lying to men — our favorite!) and learn that Elaina would not have thrived in this era. Emily and Charlotte discover their new favorite ways to woo men: crying softly in the corner or getting a sunburn, and all the ways to make the patriarchy work for you. People back then might have been SUPER misogynistic, but at least they were aware of the double standards. That’s gotta count for something, right? By the 90’s it didn’t get much better, but we don’t think they even believed in the female orgasm yet. Finally, we take a look at some classic dating tips we still hear today. The Babes are finally back in the same city after 4 months! This time the city is Atlanta, and we have gotten into some shenanigans already. Emily finally met the man Elaina’s boyfriend wanted to set her up with and he was built different…but not in a good way. Although, that night confirmed that we are way more fun than Elaina’s boyfriend’s friends, so fun that it included a run in with the cops. Elaina and Charlotte also learned that once you hit 21, you start to take advantage of all the places you can drink: Mystic Falls, the aquarium, really anywhere they’ll let you. But we prefer to be high at the aquarium, which lead to some incredibly high realizations about the connection between cocktails and dickheads. After talking about how our nice dinner turned into a three hour trauma dump (WITH TEARS) and Elaina’s bull riding adventure, we finally get into this week’s topic: weddings! We discuss our thoughts on dry weddings, plus ones, after parties, and the correct shade for a wedding cake. Emily already has her wedding planned, but we’re now taking bets on which Babe will get married first. And finally drink along with us during this weeks game. Buckle up sluts! By the time this episode comes out the Babes will have been together for a whole weekend and Emily will have kissed Charlotte on her stupid mouth. Charlotte, on the other hand, is a mess of confidence and emotion, but also not? We don’t know either. It’s also important to keep friends around that put in the same amount of effort as you now, and don’t be afraid to start laying your roots with them!
