Babes and Bad Decisions

Our goal this week was to make Charlotte as uncomfortable as possible and I think we achieved that. This week, the Babes took the infamous BDSM test and explored our kinks (drink every time Emily says “f*ck it up). Disclaimer: any healthy relationship is all about willing, enthusiastic, and continuous consent, and BDSM relationships are no different. They aren’t for everyone and are built on complete trust, so make sure you and your partner(s) are educated before exploring these types of relationships. Exploring kinks can be fun, and doing it with someone you feel safe and comfortable with makes it all the better. We’re officially officially back from our summer break, so we start off the episode with all of our life updates from the past few months. Then, we reminisce on the good old days (besides the racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia…) where dating was easy! Emily shares some dating tips from back in the day to see if they still hold up. Having a chaperone on your date may sound out of touch, but it’s more common than you think! We also check in with our friend Mr. Josephus and his oddly specific thoughts on women’s underwear. We learn the 1920s were not about being fun or friendly, but the 1940s were…don’t worry, we’re confused too. We try to define “simple, wholesome flirting” (which we figure out just means lying to men — our favorite!) and learn that Elaina would not have thrived in this era. Emily and Charlotte discover their new favorite ways to woo men: crying softly in the corner or getting a sunburn, and all the ways to make the patriarchy work for you. People back then might have been SUPER misogynistic, but at least they were aware of the double standards. That’s gotta count for something, right? By the 90’s it didn’t get much better, but we don’t think they even believed in the female orgasm yet. Finally, we take a look at some classic dating tips we still hear today. The Babes are finally back in the same city after 4 months! This time the city is Atlanta, and we have gotten into some shenanigans already. Emily finally met the man Elaina’s boyfriend wanted to set her up with and he was built different…but not in a good way. Although, that night confirmed that we are way more fun than Elaina’s boyfriend’s friends, so fun that it included a run in with the cops. Elaina and Charlotte also learned that once you hit 21, you start to take advantage of all the places you can drink: Mystic Falls, the aquarium, really anywhere they’ll let you. But we prefer to be high at the aquarium, which lead to some incredibly high realizations about the connection between cocktails and dickheads. After talking about how our nice dinner turned into a three hour trauma dump (WITH TEARS) and Elaina’s bull riding adventure, we finally get into this week’s topic: weddings! We discuss our thoughts on dry weddings, plus ones, after parties, and the correct shade for a wedding cake. Emily already has her wedding planned, but we’re now taking bets on which Babe will get married first. And finally drink along with us during this weeks game. Buckle up sluts! By the time this episode comes out the Babes will have been together for a whole weekend and Emily will have kissed Charlotte on her stupid mouth. Elaina’s boyfriend is setting Emily up on a blind date so we’ll see how that goes. This week, we’re talking about how Emily needs to stop going out on Sundays and the repercussions of it. Basically she made out with the male version of Charlotte. Have you ever just looked at someone and known you were going to break them? If you’re Too Much Too Soon™️, Emily has probably thought this. The Babes go through the pain of being so drunk you forget how to make out, a heist plan involving a stolen bar shirt, and some new and interesting evasion maneuvers. If you’re no longer interested in someone, you’re going to hurt their feelings…it’s just going to happen. The this you have to decide is HOW you’re going to hurt his feelings. Is it something about the way the moon rises? We don’t know, but something witchy is brewing this week! Charlotte has some stories for us — will her Hometown Hopeful™️ pan out? Or will she continue receiving snapchats from douche bags? Well, you know what Emily always says: once the traveling starts, the legs part. Plus, Emily spills on her date with the 30 year old. If the last guy was a brick wall, this one was a mirror. It seems that women are thirty, flirty, and thriving, but men certainly aren’t. Then, Emily finally gets her chance to rant about astrology for an hour! This week we’re talking about Venus, the planet of love, romance, friendship, and attraction. Emily’s game destroys her belief in astrology, but her research makes up for it. Emily and Elaina have the same Venus sign (shocking, we know), which means they might be naggy and overly critical, but give them affection and stability and they’ll improve your life. Charlotte, on the other hand, is a mess of confidence and emotion, but also not? We don’t know either. Friendships can grow and change as we transition through life, but don’t worry! The Babes are here to help you through it. It starts with recognizing friendships that will last past graduation/the move/the job change/etc, and sometimes someone will surprise you. Ask yourself this — who would you take a trip for? Then the Babes take a look at their own friendship and wonder if they’d met at any other time, would they still be friends? It’s also important to keep friends around that put in the same amount of effort as you now, and don’t be afraid to start laying your roots with them! Some people you just grow out of, and that’s okay. Focus on your own growth first and the rest will fall into place.
