In this episode we’re going to deep dive into what we’re doing to prepare 3 of our children for school. One great thing to help teachers is to write them a letter, giving them details about your kid and any specific things they ought to know, and then teaching your kids the forgiveness technique for when they run into issues with other children. One technique we use to make sure we don’t have an overload of extra stuff is taking everything you might want into your shopping cart, and then going through the list of stuff you’ve gathered and asking yourself what you really actually need, and then only buying those items that are absolutely necessary.

“I add everything into the shopping cart that I see that I like first, and then I come back to it and I’m like, ‘What do we really need?’ Say for example the kids need a pencil case, I’ll get a good one. I’ll get one that I think that they would really like and that would bring them joy, but I might take out the hair clips that are unnecessary. So it’s putting everything in, and then stripping it back out.” 9:16
