Several reports from the last week indicated that Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield is still on the Carolina Panthers podcast. Charlotte Observer Panthers beat reporter Jonathan Alexander appeared on 'The Roar' podcast last week talking about the Panthers bringing in a veteran quarterback, saying that "when it’s all said and done, is going to be either Jimmy Garoppolo or Baker Mayfield.”

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport offered a similar sentiment Friday afternoon on 'The Pat McAfee Show", saying "to me the Carolina Panthers seem to be the most likely spot for Baker Mayfield."

How likely is it that Baker Mayfield is a Panther by draft night? Is it an inevitably?

Signs of dysfunction within the Panthers organization continue to pop up. ESPN NFL Draft analyst Todd McShay appeared on 'The Ryen Russillo' podcast last week stating that "the Carolina Panthers would be the last team I'd want my son to be drafted."

In that McShay pointed to the uncertainty of head coach Matt Rhule's future. But it also appears that Rhule might not be upset if he's ousted following the 2022 season. McShay added, "I've been told that Matt Rhule won't be crying when both sides part ways."
