Pb: As barracas estavam cheias de cores e sons: vozes animadas, o cheiro de água de coco e acarajé no ar.
En: The stalls were full of colors and sounds: lively voices, the smell of coconut water, and acarajé in the air.

Pb: Ana, sempre responsável, tinha ido escolher brinquedos de praia.
En: Ana, always responsible, had gone to choose beach toys.

En: “Daddy, look at that blue bikini!” exclaimed Luiza, her eyes shining.

Pb: Mateus sabia que precisaria pechinchar.
En: Mateus knew he would need to bargain.

En: He approached the vendor, an older man with a wide smile.

En: “How much for this?” asked Mateus, pointing at the bikini.

Pb: “Trinta reais”, respondeu o vendedor, despretensiosamente.
En: “Thirty reais,” replied the vendor, nonchalantly.

Pb: Mateus pensou rápido, ajustando o orçamento mentalmente.
En: Mateus thought quickly, adjusting the budget mentally.

En: “Could you do it for twenty?” he suggested, with a hopeful smile.

En: After a minute of negotiation, he secured the desired discount, much to Luiza's delight.

En: Shortly after, they found Ana intently observing a pair of frescobol rackets.

Pb: “Papai, podemos levar?”, perguntou ela, esperançosa.
En: “Daddy, can we get them?” she asked hopefully.

En: Looking into Ana's pleading eyes, Mateus agreed with a smile, already aware of the challenges still to come throughout the day.

Pb: De repente, um pequeno conflito surgiu.

En: Luiza found a sun hat that Ana also loved.

En: Mateus took a deep breath, needing his fatherly diplomacy.

Pb: “Meninas, vamos tentar achar uma solução juntos”, sugeriu.
En: “Girls, let's try to find a solution together,” he suggested.

Pb: As duas pararam, olhavam para Mateus.
En: The two stopped, looking at Mateus.

En: “Since it's Children's Day, how about sharing the hat?

En: Today it's your turn, Luiza, and tomorrow it's yours, Ana.” The daughters exchanged glances and agreed, realizing that the feeling of unity was sweeter than any other gift.

En: Finally, with the budget intact and peace restored, Mateus ended the day with a final touch: a cheerful beach ball.

En: The girls jumped with joy, their eyes lit by the day's success.

En: Mateus learned that the true value was not in the reais spent, but in the smiles that illuminated their path along the beach of Ipanema.
