Plenty of news came from the baseball world on the first official day of free agency. But perhaps no bigger shockwave was sent than that of Craig Counsell going from the Brewers to the Cubs, with Chicago giving out the biggest contract in managerial history. We had to get a pulse of what was happening in Chicago so we turned to two of our favorites - Matt Spiegel of 670 The Score and our own White Sox super fan Courtney Finnicum. While the GM Meetings are starting to percolate in Arizona, there is no question all eyes in the baseball world was on Chicago to kick off the week. With the Reds moving on from one of their most iconic players, Joey Votto, Baseball Isn't Boring wanted to take a few minutes to appreciate everything the future Hall of Famer has done for the game and the podcast. To help reflect on a career that started in 2007, we are resurfacing the two conversations Bradfo had with Votto - the first including Red Sox pitcher Garrett Whitlock, with the second taking place just before his return to the Cincy lineup in the middle of the 2023 season.

Well, Bradfo and Coop turned to a man who has found himself in the middle of two World Series-winning parties , Jonny Gomes.
