Welcome to another monthly episode of “What Are the Sisters Reading?" Two guests were interviewed:
+ Sister Julia Mary Darrenkamp, FSP, reflects on renowned Marian scholar Father René Laurentin's book called "Bernadette Speaks: A Life of St. Bernadette Soubirous in Her Own Words," which is a different kind of saint's biography. It is one that reads almost like a novel. In these pages Bernadette lives again. We follow her from birth to death, hearing her speak, watching her interact, experiencing with her the life-changing impact of the 18 apparitions of the Virgin Mary at Lourdes.
+ Sister Kathryn Hermes, FSP, reflects upon a book called "Gods Mercy Awaits You: Finding Healing After Abortion," by Sister Patricia Marie Barnette, which helps women on a journey out of the darkness and shame and regret of post-abortion trauma and guilt and into the light of God's forgiveness and mercy. The book is highly practical, filled with prayers, advice, and web and print resources that consider the issue from every perspective. If you or someone you know is living in pain caused by an abortion, "God’s Mercy Awaits You" is an invaluable resource to begin the process of healing.
