4.2-inch device pulled apart: bezel, NFC coil, e-paper module, case, board, three AAA cells, wall mount.

The coil is wound into a groove in the bezel, 0.8 mm deep, which is what lets a phone talk to the device while it is switched off.

This animated music video was created for the “Dawn by the Loon” by LUI and Heitech, released in 2023. Colourful waves dance across the screen, forming a sea of shifting tones, shapes, and movement that responds to the atmosphere and energy of the music.

The film "Moving Waves", illustrated, and animated by Tamara Manus, was developed as a diploma project and completed in February 2024.

Tutor Lance Richardson, model Kim Frezell. Lance was getting us to use cross-hatching to start with, but I haven't reproduced those drawings, firstly because they were in pencil and therefore too faint to photograph, and secondly because they were crap. The ones after I gave up on the cross-hatching were better. And yes, that's a violin Kim is using as a prop in the last sketch.
