Batting Around Podcast

WE RECORDED THIS BEFORE THE LOCKOUT ENDED!

It's another Couching Around, this time about three fantastic episodes of Sunny. The lockout is over, so this is probably the last one where we can pretty much totally avoid talking about baseball, but we'll probably still do more TV stuff.

MLB is still in owners' lockout so we're still watching TV, and this time we're back to our anime comfort zone with the baseball episode of Samurai Champloo. it's a good show, go watch it.

idk man, we were in a mood

No Cartridge's Trevor Strunk (@Hegelbon)joins us to talk about anime, specifically the baseball anime Ace of Daimond, as well as final fantasy and Japanese delinquent gangs. See if you can count how many times we get the name of the anime we're discussing wrong in this episode.

We're back from our break and talking hot stove, cutting open baseballs, the lockout, whether or not Scherzer will survive being a Met, the Beatles, and of course a little bit of Star Trek.

We wrap up the World Series, talk about the CBA negotiations, Reds tanking, qualifying offers, and since it's just Lauren and Jane there's several different Star Trek discussions.

World Series stuff, Biden talks baseball with the pope, Luis Robert's anime lambo, Steve Cohen's tweets used against MLB in court, a Gabe Kapler impression, then some Metal Gear and LotR stuff in place of Star Trek stuff this week.

Dune, Wes Anderson, Joc, Eddie, a bad Bob Nightengale piece, CBA negotiations, ass in the jackpot, fandom calvinism, then of course some good Deep Space 9 riffs.

We manage to talk about the postseason, but also ren fairs, how to stop the chop, Boston accents, the announcement about the new housing requirement for minor leaguers, Mets GM drama and Stephen's solutions, then a really fun mailbag segment. we promise there's no broadway in this one but fuckable Star Trek characters talk is back .

What a thrill! KHive Stephen (aka Punished Stephen aka The Legendary Faggot) is back as we talk about the postseason so far(which has been pretty good?) and the MLB broadway promo (which Jane forced everyone to watch). Some good mailbag stuff in there, including the return of which Star Trek Characters Fuck Good.
