At 37 years of age was when I had my epiphany that it was time to change what I was doing. That was October 7, 2015 when I signed my resignation letters to Schaumburg School District 54 in Schaumburg, Illinois USA.

I no longer desired working a job for a check and benefits anymore. I didn’t want to mortgage off my time in life for a paycheck and benefits. I couldn’t see my life continuing on like that for the next 20-30 years until I retired to “enjoy life” on limited funds for retirement. I could see where I was headed and I didn’t want to go down that road.

So I took a risk on myself. That’s right. I bet on me. Why? Because you only live once on planet earth and it makes no sense to live this life to be average or normal. I created goals and pursued them because my life depended on them. It gave me a purpose. It gave me clarity. And when I had clarity and started living my purpose, I had a purpose driven life and started living life to its fullest.

Learn to live life. Not your friend’s version of living life- your version. The purpose driven version. Gain clarity and find your purpose starting today.

Christmas is three days away and many things can happen between now and then that can impact people negatively. Don’t draw hard lines in the sand out of anger and frustration. Do not allow situations to become Mount Everest and get you out of sorts.

Things will happen and something will throw you off but take it with a grain of salt. Choose to enjoy the holiday season. If it won’t matter in five years, then don’t spend more than five minutes thinking about it.
