I spend a lot of time on the internet, and one of the things I've always enjoyed is finding new, interesting and weird things to look at and listen to. And, ASMR is one of those things. ASMR, or Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response, is a "tingling" sensation that occurs in response to certain triggers, like soft sounds, gentle touch, or in this case, thunder and rain. It's often been described as a "braingasm," and it can be incredibly relaxing.
I first discovered ASMR a few years ago, when I was researching sleep aids. I was looking for something to help me fall asleep, and ASMR popped up. I was intrigued, so I clicked on a video, and I was instantly hooked. I've been listening to ASMR videos ever since.
I'll admit, at first I was a bit skeptical. I wasn't sure if it was all in my head, or if there was actually something to this ASMR stuff. But, the more I listened, the more I realized that there was definitely something to it. And, it was really helpful in aiding my sleep.
Now, there are a lot of different types of ASMR videos out there. There are people who whisper, people who tap on objects, people who crinkle paper, and people who make all kinds of sounds. And, each person's experience is going to be different.
For me, I find that the Thunder and Rain soundscape is the most effective in helping me fall asleep. I love the sound of the rain, and the thunder is just the right amount of noisy. It's not too overwhelming, but it's also not too soft. It's just perfect.
I usually put on the Thunder and Rain soundscape when I'm in bed, and I start to feel my body relax. My mind starts to wander, and before I know it, I'm asleep. It's really that simple.
If you're struggling to get a good night's sleep, I definitely recommend giving ASMR a try. There are a ton of different types of ASMR sounds out there, so you're bound to find one that works for you. And, who knows, maybe you'll even find yourself hooked like I did.
