  • Pirate Queen: a kids’ mindful tale and relaxation
Today, Allie is a pirate queen. After a quick nap, she and her crew search the park for clues to find the buried treasure.
    Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:54
    Narrator: Female
    Pirate Queen Excerpt:
Allie giggled as Owen approached, feeling excited for her game to begin. Owen had a magenta scarf tied on his head, looking very piratey. When he found Allie he smiled and said, “Arrrr, I got your message, your majesty, and wore me best.”

In response, Allie laughed, “You look great, me hearty!” From a distance, they heard a shout, “There be the Pirate Queen!” Helen had arrived. Her purple eye patch and scarf designated her as one of the crew. Andy ran up to Helen and added, “Arrr.” His red and white striped shirt and scarf shouted pirate to any onlookers.

“Now that my crew be here, let’s find some pirate treasure.” Allie said.

“Yeah!” Owen, Andy, and Helen shouted. Allie pulled a gold rock out from her pocket to show her fellow pirates. “This be what we’re looking for.”

“Where do we start, your majesty?” the crew asked.

The pirate queen grinned, and held up a piece of paper. “Here’s our first clue.” There was a drawing on it and some writing that no one could read.

“What does it say?” Helen asked.

  • Hello! a relaxing short story and meditation
Tanner toad greets a new friend with the customary "Hello!" Since the other toad doesn't respond, Tanner tries a different approach.
Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story “Batty Dragon” on Monday. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “Hello!” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday!
    Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:36
    Narrator: Male

    Hello! Excerpt:
It was time for a break in the shade. Tanner knew where to go, his favorite spot under the ferns.  There was enough shade there to cool off, with a little bit of sunlight filtering through the airy leaves.  So, off Tanner hop, hop, hopped over to the ferns.  When he got there, he saw another toad in his spot, facing away.  Tanner hadn’t seen this toad before, and became excited.  Maybe he would make a new friend!  Eagerly the little toad hopped over to the fern and said, “Hi! I’m Tanner!”  The other toad stayed in place with his back to Tanner.  Tanner felt sad the toad was ignoring him and then annoyed.  Why did this toad think he could sit in Tanner’s favorite spot and then ignore him.  That was just rude.  Tanner decided he would tell the other toad how he felt, when suddenly there was a big rumbling sound.

A truck drove by on the street. It was so loud, that it hurt Tanner’s head.  He held a big leaf over his head to block the noise and watched the truck go by.  Tanner felt relieved after the loud noise rumbled away, and sighed.  Then he looked back at the other toad, who was still facing the other direction.  Now Tanner was puzzled.  That was a really loud noise, why hadn’t the other toad even looked?  Could the other toad hear it?
Today’s Meditation: Imagine floating in a tranquil pool, safe and relaxed, as the water rocks you gently.

  • Batty Dragon: a relaxing meditation and bedtime story
Dragon notices something zipping across the night sky. The little bat invites Dragon for a snack and our batty dragon zig-zags along.

    Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 5:34

    Narrator: Male
    Batty Dragon Excerpt:
In the fading sunlight a dark shape zipped around against the sky. The shape quickly flew one way and then another, zig-zagging across the field.

Dragon wondered what it could be. As the sky darkened and Dragon lost track of the zig-zagging shape. Soon the stars and moon sparkled brightly above. Dragon walked along staring up at the twinkling sky with a smile of contentment. Occasionally something covered up a few stars here, a few stars there. Then, as Dragon wondered what was blocking the stars, something zipped right up to Dragon’s nose and hovered in front.

“Oh, hi! I’m Bertie.” Dragon heard the little bat say, wings flapping. Dragon smiled and nodded.

  • The Twinkling Sky: a mindful children’s story
Anna watches the twinkling sky thinking she is star gazing. Anna watches with curiosity as some of the lights flash and move around. What are they?
Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story “Curious Island” on Monday. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “The Twinkling Sky” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday!
    Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:12

    Narrator: Female
    The Twinkling Sky Excerpt:
Anna lied on her back in the grass watching the sky.  As the night fell, the moon glowed and the stars twinkled their hello.  The little girl took a deep dragon breath in and out (deep breath), full of wonder at the beauty unfolding in the sky above her.  Then she saw it.  A blinking yellow light hovered in the sky above her.  Anna wondered what it was.  She watched as the blinking yellow light whirled around, dancing on the breeze, and then up into the branches of the willow tree.  Anna hoped that the light would come back.

After a moment of watching the willow’s branches gently sway, back and forth, back and forth, Anna looked back up at the moon.  It was a perfect circle tonight, and bright white.  Then it happened again.  A yellow blinking light hovered above her.  Wait, there were two, no three.  More and more blinking yellow lights filled the sky, circling each other and dancing.  Now Anna sat up.  What were they?  She waved her hand in the air and the lights gracefully moved away.

Anna stood up.  Little yellow lights blinked around her.  She decided to catch one.  Maybe then she would find out what it was.  Anna gently moved her hands, and scooped a light out of the air, quickly covering it with her other hand.  Slowly she opened her hands to peek inside.  There was a little black and red bug with black wings resting on Anna’s palm.  It looked up at her inquisitively.  Anna had never seen anything like it.  She closed her hands and ran to her parents.
Today’s Meditation: Imagine floating on a cloud, and relax into the feeling of lightness.

    Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 6:28

    Narrator: Female

The sky was brighter than Dali had ever seen. It’s deep blue nearly matched the color of the sea. The toy plane waited patiently on the ground for her instructions. As the message streamed in, Dali smiled. She was going to fly over the island at sunset. The little toy plane imagined how beautiful Ahway Island would look in the glow of the setting sun. She got ready for take-off and with a quick count down of, 5,4,3,2,1 Dali was off!

  • Dragon Magic: a children’s meditation and story
Hoping to share Dragon magic with the people, Dragon takes some deep breaths and ponders how to meet people without frightening them.
Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new story “Changing Winds” on Monday. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Today we’re sharing our very first Dragon story! Please enjoy “Dragon Magic!” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday!
    Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 10:50

    Narrator: Male
    Dragon Magic Excerpt:
Still, the curious dragon wondered why people acted so strangely.  A magnificent tail flipped back and forth, back and forth as the little dragon thought and thought.  The dragon was bigger than the people. Remembering that the animals had also been afraid at first, the dragon wondered if size was the reason.  Then the dragon thought about what had changed, so that the bunnies, deer, birds, frogs, toads, turtles, and bears felt comfortable.  The dragon waited patiently and quietly.

Eventually, the animals approached.  Once one came near, others felt safe.  Oh, that’s right, the animals worried the dragon would eat them.  Was that what the people were worried about?  Yuck.  What a silly thought.  A person couldn’t possibly taste as good as roasted brussel sprouts, or roasted carrots, or roasted sweet potatoes; certainly not as good as an apple, orange or banana.  Having figured out the source of the fear, the gentle dragon knew waiting patiently was a good idea.  Fortunately, the wait was almost over.
Today’s Meditation: Today, you will focus on relaxing your body a little bit at a time.  Starting with your feet, moving up to the top of your head, and ending with a focus on your entire body, you are sure to feel calm and relaxed.

During a relaxing sail Sandy the sailboat notices the changing winds. To keep her crew safe from the storm, she heads back to the harbor.

    Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 9:31

    Narrator: Male
    Changing Winds Excerpt:
Sandy motored away from the harbor to a spot where she could put up her sails. The colorful stretches of fabric filled up with wind until they were stretched tight. Sandy could feel the wind moving her through the water and took a deep dragon breath, in and out (deep breath) relaxing in the peace of the morning. The wind carried the sailboat out and Sandy enjoyed gliding across the water. Sandy looked around. She loved to gaze at the deep turquoise blue water. Then the sailboat noticed the sky looked different. On one side, the sky was growing dark. On her other side it was very bright. Sandy knew immediately what was happening. A storm was on its way.

Rumina the rainbow is looking for a way to bring a color surprise to the world below the clouds. Will she find an opening?
Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new stories “Sky Dragon” and “All Smiles” this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “Color Surprise!” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday!
    Final 3 Dragon Breaths: 7:56

    Narrator: Female

    Color Surprise Excerpt:
Rumina looked and looked and looked.  The clouds were squished tightly together.  She just couldn’t find a spot to peek through, with the sunlight.  The clouds rolled on, forming peaks and valleys.  Rumina got an idea.  Maybe if she climbed to the top of a tall cloud, she could find an opening below.  So she looked around for a tall cloud, and she found it.  It was enormous, a mountain of fluff, towering over the others.  Surely, the little rainbow could see everything from there.

So Rumina climbed up, up, and up the magnificent cloud.  She was working hard and needed a break, so the little rainbow stopped on a flat portion halfway up and took a deep dragon breath in and out (deep breath).  Rumina thought about smiling people and animals, and glowing plants!  She could do this.  Rumina would find a way to bring some cheerfulness and hope to the land below the cloud cover. Finally, the little rainbow reached the top, and peered across the puffy landscape.  She noticed on the other side of the mountainous cloud, there was a large opening!  Sunshine was streaming through it, lighting up the earth.  That was the spot to bring some color to the world!

The ocean is filled with music. Two rockin' sharks, Shayla and Santiago, search out the source of the beats and, when they find it, dance.

“Yes. I’ve never heard anything like it. What do you think it is?” Santiago shark asked.
“I don’t know.” Then a grin crept across her face and she said, “I think I like it. Do you want to see if we can find it?”
The other shark smiled back and said, “That sounds like fun. Let’s go!” Shayla and Santiago circled around each other trying to discover to the source of the mysterious sound. After a couple of circles, both sharks knew the direction of the sound. So, they exchanged knowing smiles and swam in that direction. As they approached the source of the sound, it changed.
