  • The Relationship Between Business and Marriage with Chris Mahan
Join Karaleigh in an interview with the wonderful Chris Mahan.
Chris is passionate about assisting small business owners employ the strategies and tactics that will ensure their business is successful and profitable. Having experienced first hand the devastating effects financial adversity can have on an individual, his desire is to remove the underlying cause of financial difficulties (which is typically a lack of money) so other business owners don't suffer as he once did. Chris sees himself as someone who reduces the stress on business owners, saves their marriages, strengthens their relationship with their children and grandchildren and, in some case, even saves their lives.
    Favorite takeaways:
    1. I just don’t know the whole picture yet, I don’t have the end of my story- I’m still in that rising action part. I just need to be willing to believe that there’s a happy ending somewhere and that this is just the really good part that gets everyone interested. Just wait, you never know what’s coming next.
    2. Hold on to your fork- the best is yet to come.
    3. There is so much beauty waiting for you in your life, just keep going.
    4. There are times when those storms come into our lives and at the moment all we can see is the blackness, but if we can hold on, especially if we have people that can help us to hold on, then the sunshine is gonna come. It’s gonna break through. And when it does we have a renewed appreciation for it. It means more to us than it did before.
    5. The more darkness that we experience in life the more we are able to appreciate the light. It’s in the contrast that we are able to live our lives to the fullest.
    6. Who knows what the Lord is preparing you for?
    7. Take time and find out what you really appreciate about the people around you, about the situation around you, looking for the positive things because even in the midst of dark times if we would stop and focus on the good things that are happening, we’ll see them. And the more that we focus on those, the less impact the negative things have in our lives.

  • 3 Ways to Make Your Own Sunshine: A Live Keynote Concert
If you missed the Live event on October 7th, 2023, don’t worry, you can listen here! This is Seeking Sunshine: A Keynote Concert, Learn 3 Ways We Can Make Our Own Sunshine.
    Favorite takeaways:
    1. It wasn’t the ball gown that saved Cinderella, it was her tenacity and courage. When everything in her life was falling apart, quite literally at the seams, it took her finding sunshine and pulling it out of thin air with her fairy godmother. But her fairy godmother couldn’t make her walk into that castle and have the confidence to dance with the price. She had to know her own worth and believe that she belonged there- and it would have been really easy to believe she didn’t.
    2. People tend to say terrible things when they are hurting. What people say has way more to do with them than it does with me.
    3. Sunshine is a lot like inspiration: you can’t touch it, but you can feel it. You can’t force it, you actually have to surrender to it.
    4. Maybe miracles really do exist and maybe they just have to look a little bit different than we had planned out in our heads.
    5. Seeking sunshine means finding the confidence to surrender, especially to surrender to the divine- to surrender to God’s will for us because He knows so much more than we do, and then to surrender to the light that’s already inside us so we can do what lights us up.
    6. Fear is selfish. Fear happens when we are thinking about ourselves. Fear causes us to shrink and to not give our gifts to the world. If you really knew your own worth, you wouldn’t need to be afraid.
    7. How do you create sunshine in your life? It turns out you don’t have to- you already have it. You were born with it. You have sunshine in your very soul. You just have to be willing to unleash it.

  • How to Find Meaning and Move Forward with Devorah Kur
Join Karaleigh in an interview with the insightful and resilient Devorah Kur.
Devorah works as an SEP (trauma therapist), Reflexologist, a clinical Logotherapist (meaning oriented) and Bereavement counselor. In her wellness clinic she also incorporates Mental Imagery which uses the mind to help us heal. She is passionate about helping people through their illnesses, challenges, and struggles in life and work to empower them to the wellbeing of their mind, body, and soul. Her forte is to help people ask, “What now?” instead of asking, " Why me?" Her book, 'Man's Search for Healing' explores how to be an active participant in your own healing journey with case studies and personal examples. A year ago she broke her neck and had the opportunity to 'walk the talk' to healing.
    Favorite takeaways:
    1. Within each of us we have this defined power of the human spirit to overcome difficulty and struggle. And even when outside circumstances are so challenging and so hard, we still have an opportunity to change ourselves, to change how we respond to hard things and difficulties.
    2. Circumstances don’t make a man, they reveal him to himself.
    3. Whatever I’m dealing with now- maybe I just haven’t given it enough time for the miracle to happen.
    4. We don’t ask why me, we ask what now. We always have a choice. We can still choose how we will respond.
    5. If you look deep into the ground underneath the oak, you’ll never find the acorn, because it has to disintegrate for the growth to take place. When a seed goes into the ground, if it wants to hold onto its identity in this way, then it’s just going to stay a seed. But it has to go through some kind of rotting process and disintegrate to become something bigger.
    6. When we refuse to receive, we limit other people’s ability to give.
    7. While you are incredible how you are right now, you deserve to grow.

  • How Integrity Fuels Your Soul with Kute Blackson
Join Karaleigh in an interview with the incredible Kute Blackson.
Kute is a transformational speaker and national best-selling author of You.Are.The.One. and his new book, The Magic of Surrender, published by Penguin Random House. He has been recognized as the “Mindfulness guru that billionaires go to for advice” by Inc Magazine and has been featured on the Larry King Now Show, Dr. Drew, NPR, Fox and Friends, Mind Body Green, and many more. With everything going on in the world, there’s never been a more important time to discuss the topic of surrender. The Magic of Surrender is a guide to move you past inner struggle to discover the power of letting go of control and how letting go leads to more. Typically surrender is considered passive, but Kute wants to show people it isn’t about giving up, it’s about being strong and courageous. It’s about tapping in. This inspiring book shows how surrender is a key factor in the lives of so many great people throughout history and shows how readers can move past barriers in their life to discover the freedom and possibility on the other side of surrender.
    Favorite takeaways:
    1. My soul guided me. Sometimes what your soul guides you to do doesn’t always make sense to your logic, doesn’t always makes sense to your mind, isn’t always convenient or comfortable, but what I have found is when you listen to your soul, when you listen to that inner guidance, without compromise you’ll always be guided in the right direction with the right people at the right time even though the road and the route that you take might not be the one that you most expect.
    2. Pain is feedback showing us we are not living in alignment. Pain is communication.
    3. When you’re out of integrity, you can feel it. The problem with our culture and society today is that we go, go, go, go, go, and then you can’t feel it. Because we’re always running on autopilot and you can’t feel it until you slow down.
    4. Sometimes people think that when you find your purpose, life gets easy. But I think sometimes, when you find your purpose, the real challenges begin- when you find your purpose, the real difficulties begin. To me, these are soul tests that you have to go through in order to grow through.
    5. When it doesn’t seem like there’s much hope, when nothing seems to be working and you feel like giving up- I want to tell people that you’re closer than you think. It’s in the darkness that gestation is happening. So when you’re in the darkness- to me the darkness is a gift, the darkness is a blessing. The darkness pushes you to look inside.
    6. When things don’t go according to plan, don’t collapse, don’t contract, don’t curse the universe, don’t blame yourself, instead get curious. Step back, don’t judge, and be open and available.
    7. Surrender is the most powerful thing that we can do. Surrender is the key to the next level of our lives. Surrender is the real secret to manifestation. Surrender is letting go of the illusion of control. Surrender is when you stop trying to force life to fit your limited idea of how you think it should be and who you think you should be and how you think life should unfold. It’s when you’re open and you take the limitations off of life and you’re open and you’re available to receive.

    Favorite takeaways:
    1. You’ll get there, you just have to let it take the time that it needs to take. And if you try to rush the process it’s actually going to take you longer to get where you want to go.
    2. You have life left! Do what you love and pursue it. And just realize that what you do isn’t always going to happen overnight and that’s ok. It’s your own race. Run your own race and you’re going to be just fine.
    3. Your power doesn’t come from some title or some job, your power comes from you. Your power is your choice- are you honoring yourself? That’s where your power comes in.
    4. Eat the cake, buy the shoes, dance in the rain, take the trip, because tomorrow is not promised to us. Live every day to the fullest. It’s why we’re here. Find that sunshine.
    5. Everything you’ve gone through has built you and made you who you are and where you are now. When the door closes behind you the next one might not open but it’s ok to pray in the hall.
    6. If I could go back to my 23 yr old self and tell her one thing, it would be just do it. Just do it. Follow your heart and just do it.
    7. God is in the tiny details. He is in the little day to day actions. He is in the small moments. He is not usually the one filling our heads with the big grandiose actions- this is all of a sudden going to happen and all my problems are suddenly going to be over. He’s in the little sparkles of sunshine that we can choose to see throughout our day. If you can see the clouds, you are able to see them because of the sun.

  • On Healing and Redemption with Elaine Mingus

Join Karaleigh in an interview with the truly inspiring Elaine Mingus.

After experiencing sexual abuse at the hands of a church youth pastor, Elaine quickly spiraled into a deep depression that lead her to use coping mechanisms such as bulimia, alcohol, and drugs. It wasn't until one day when she walked into a church, did she have a deep revelation that all her answers were not found anywhere in this world. She's recovered from all her many habits and addictions to go on to have 7 children that her and her husband homeschool, a successful 6-figure vintage furniture business in Austin, Texas and recently ran for Mrs. Texas 2023.

    Favorite takeaways:

    1. Your journey to healing from trauma can look like a thousand things. There’s no one-way journey, there’s no right or wrong way to get to that healing place, as long as you get to the next step.

    2. I am going to be still and know that you are God and it is not actually my job to fix the world. It is your job, and you hold it all in your hands and I am just a recipient of your grace and your mercy in this moment. I’m gonna let you fix it. Here.

    3. We feel like we have to control everything and there’s not enough time, but the answer to everything is to trust God.

    4. When we don’t take a day of rest, we’re teaching our children not to rest- that they’re not allowed to rest. We’re building up this hustle culture. It’s so engrained in us to try to earn our salvation.

    5. If we could just rest and just trust and know that what will be will be. Everything that is supposed to be yours will come to you if you just realize that you don’t have to fight for it, it’s already yours.

    6. All the things that I was chasing before are now chasing me. It’s just so cool to watch God at work because it’s so much more of a place of rest, not a place of hustle.

    7. He didn’t give us these passions for no reason. God did not put these things on our hearts for us to suffer through never doing them. We just have to give it to Him and let Him be in charge of what that looks like and maybe it looks different than what we thought it would.

  • How to Find the Strength You Didn’t Know You Had with Dee Treadwell

Join Karaleigh in an interview with the incredibly resilient Dee Treadwell.

*Trigger warning- this story is a rollercoaster that includes trauma and abuse of quite the variety, but I promise you it’s worth listening to for the miracles and strength Dee shows and experiences.

Dee is CEO and founder of Divine Nexus as an Intuitive Resilience Coach specializing in grief and trauma. With over 25 years of experience, she uses her education, expertise and abilities to help you rebuild your life with clarity, confidence and purpose!

    Favorite takeaways:

    1. Let’s just keep going. We keep going. No matter what, we keep going.

    2. It’s no one thing ever. It’s no one thing. We always have a compilation of experiences but we also have a compilation of help.

    3. Perspective is key, always. If I’m able to hold the perspective through everything, so is everybody else. It’s ok if you can’t hold the perspective right now, I’ll do it for right now, until I teach you how to do it.

    4. We all have that inner knowing, we all have that inner guidance, it’s just giving ourselves permission to slow down enough to listen to it.

    5. Needing to be seen is a primal need. We as humans need to be seen by other humans. We need to be seen, we need to be heard, and we need to be validated.

    6. Decide. Decide the life you want. You can decide. You may not be able to decide the circumstances that happen in your life, but you get to decide the life you want. And as soon as you decide that, then you’re able to take the steps you need to take to get there.

    7. You don’t have to struggle alone. There are people out there who will listen. There are people out there who do care. Look for the lighthouses.
