Be With Me: 7 Minutes of Biblical Wonder

Today, we will witness Jesus revealing the SECOND worst news you can get. Listen and be amazed.  Aim for AWE.

So very good to be with the ZOOMers this morning.  I encourage all to worship with big church too.

Q:  If Jesus was really a prophet, what kind of people would he see?  
A:  only sinners.  big sinners and even bigger sinners. 

Q:  What kind of people do WE see?  
A:  Other people's SIN.  Me?  I'm OK.  

Theoretically, this is a story about a Woman of the City, whose sin is great.  But there is another sinner in the story.  Can you find him?  Listen and read from Luke 7:44

There will be yet another cliffhanger.

A bit of a Cliffhanger this morning. This is from Luke chapter 7 verse 36 Jesus reclines and speaks in front of him but the real action is behind him. Listen to this account of great anticipation 

The unique aspect of Coronavirus:  ISOLATION vs. The Presence of God with us.  Will you REALLY be alone?  Will you be ready for it?  Listen as we explore Job 7:17 Ps144:3, Is 65:18, Ps 8, John 1: 14 Pitched His tent. Today's message may be snack-SIZED, as Josh has said, but it is still a SNICKERS BAR of goodness.  Listen.  You'll see!

We are so Blessed. Prophets and righteous people have been longing to see what we can see. So then, what should our posture be ? How about eyes that want to see, ears that want to hear , and feet that want to turn. Maybe be a people that long just to know the “secrets” that are not so secret anymore.  May that be our “posture”. 

If you are having a QUIET TIME, you are doing it all wrong.  The last thing it should be is QUIET.

My charge today is to utilize that time productively in prioritizing a 

non-quiet-time with the Lord your Bible and your heart.Please listen and be inspired

Yesterdays PODCAST was however, a bit of a trick. I wanted to set you up today’s question.

Yesterday we found John the Baptist in prison with the limited scope of the sovereignty of God. Of note, we find ourselves in the same position. We are all in a time of uncertainty and we do not fully see the sovereignty of God in our future.

My question for the day is what questions do you have in light of this virus(and in the sovereignty of God). 

One big question today:

The scenario is John the Baptist is in prison.  He has made Herod angry and does not know his fate. (Ultimately he gets beheaded, but we are not allowed to read ahead)  He sends messengers to Jesus.  They come back saying the blind are given sight, the lame walk, the deaf hear, the sick are healed, and  the dead are raised.  Imagine this news.  Jesus is of ultimate, this world and new kingdom power and authority.

John had a lot of time on his hands to think about our question today:  "If blind are given sight, the lame walk, the deaf hear, the sick are healed, and  the dead are raised, WHY CAN't I GET FREED FROM PRISON?"

Your VALUE is compared to the GREATEST GUY WHO EVER LIVED.  At least he was TIED for the Greatest Guy.
