The off season starts Tuesday when teams can use the Franchise Tag on players. This is a good thing. The Super Bowl Champs have 8 key free agent starters and the team has around 30 million in cap space.  WR Chris Godwin, LB Lavonte David , TE Rob Gronkowski, DL Ndamukong Suh, RB Leonard Fournette, LB Shaq Barrett , WR Antonio Brown and K Ryan Succop are the new GREAT EIGHT. It is very realistic that the team brings back anywhere from 4 to 6 of these players. It is also realistic that they sign only two.  Jason Licht and Bruce Arians are about to be VERY busy.

Michigan Hockey returned to play last weekend vs the first place team in the Big Ten. At times they looked like a top ten team, others like one that has missed 3 plus weeks of training/games. The series split with Wisconsin still has the Wolverines in a good position heading into the home stretch. The team travels to Columbus this weekend to face a struggling Buckeyes squad.

Michigan Hockey is back after almost 3 weeks due to a University wide shutdown. Good and bad news... we have a fully healthy team and return to Yost this weekend. The bad news? We face the Red Hot Wisconsin Badgers, who have taken over 1st place in the Big Ten. The Wolverines will battle the top team in the conference AND rust.

The Bucs did it! Behind a dominate defensive performance and diverse offense, Tampa Bay dominated the defending Champion Chiefs 31-9 to win the franchise 2nd Super Bowl trophy.  Patrick Mahomes and his beat up Offensive line could not hold and the Bucs offense used a balance approach and physicality to push around a frustrated KC defense. The stars of this game are Head Coach Bruce Airans and his two coordinators: Byron Leftwich and Todd Bowles. The game plan was outstanding and the adjustments from the late season loss to the Chiefs all worked.  WE DID IT! #SUPERBOWLCHAMPIONS

The Bucs play today in the Super Bowl. In their home stadium-Raymond James. The good news ends here. They face the defending World Champion Kansas City Chiefs, led by offensive stars Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill.  Coach Andy Reid's team features the most explosive offense in the sport and an underrated defense that attacks from all levels. Tampa will need a 60 minute performance and their best effort of the season to win the franchise 2nd Super Bowl.

It was a busy weekend with no live game action for the NFL. Not only did we have the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama but a rare starting Quarterback for Starting Quarterback trade occurred in the NFC as the Rams and Lions swapped Jared Goff and Matthew Stafford.

The Kansas City Chiefs are worthy World Champions. Led by the new Three Amigos( Hill, Kelce and Mahomes) and Head coach Andy Reid, this team has been elite for 3 years and can score from anywhere on the field. And don't sleep on an underrated defense (Ask Josh Allen and the Bills) coached by Steve Spagnuolo. This is a a super talented team and the Bucs will have to play their best to take home the Lombardi Trophy.

Good and bad news. The Wolverine Hockey program is among the hottest in the country, having just swept rivals Notre Dame and Ohio State in back to back series. Now the real world is the opponent and Covid 19 has shutdown the Michigan Athletic department for 2 weeks. Winners of 5 of 6 since the start of the 2nd half, Michigan is scheduled to resume play February 9th vs MSU. ( Health/Safety orders permitting)

The Buccaneers are NFC Champions! Led by a dominant defensive performance and Tom Brady's 3 TD passes, Tampa becomes the 1st team to host the Super Bowl.  A 28-10 lead became a one possession game in the 4th quarter and the Bucs defense made play after play to secure the conference championship.  The teams have two weeks to prepare for the game and Tampa Bay will need it. They are facing the defending Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs, led by QB Pat Mahomes and coach Andy Reid.

The Bucs are one step game away from becoming the 1st team in NFL History to host the Super Bowl. One problem: The Green Bay Packers are the opponent. That means the Big 3 of Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams and Aaron Jones stand in the way. Tampa will have to continue their winning formula of a strong run game, solid defense and diverse pass attack to win Sunday. #LFG
