The Wolverines had great success last weekend, sweeping rival Ohio State at Yost by a combined 9-2. A surprise goalie change sparked the team Friday while Johnny Beecher's 2 breakaways in the opening minute gave an indication that Michigan was ready to roll. Michigan faces off vs a red hot Notre Dame team tonight and Friday in South Bend. 1 point separates the teams and this could be the biggest series of the season for Big Blue.  #LFG

The Buccaneers did it Sunday. They slayed the dragon aka the Saints. After losing  straight to their division rivals, Tampa beat them 30-20 to advance to the NFC championship game next Sunday in Green Gay.  The defense, led by Devin White and Sean Murphy Bunting, forced 4 turnovers and confused future Hall of Fame QB Drew Brees. Meanwhile, Tom Brady, Leonard Fournette, Mike Evans,Ronald Jones and the rest of the offense controlled the ball and put up points.  Head Coach Bruce Arians and defensive coordinator Todd "Hire this man" Bowles also made game changing decisions that helped secure the win. #LFG

Michigan was 2 minutes away from all important sweep last weekend but a combo of bad  luck and The Sparties stole the 2nd game. The Wolverines look to rebound vs a pesky Ohio State club Friday and Saturday at Yost. Meanwhile, former Michigan great Dylan Larkin received a huge honor this week.

The Bucs survived Chase Young, Taylor Heinicke and friends Saturday night, winning 31-23 in Maryland. Mike Evans balled, Leonard Fournette was a man and the Bucs offensive tackles tag teamed with Rob Gronkowski to handle a tough Washington defense. Tom Brady was Tom Brady: VERY good and the defense did enough to win minus Devin White. Tampa will play either the Saints or the Los Angeles Rams next weekend in divisional round. #LFG

The Bucs are in the playoffs for the first time since 2007 and they travel to Washington Saturday in the Wild Card round. The Football Team has a strong pass rush, team toughness and a very good defense overall. Tampa will try to play ahead and make Washington chase the score.

Michigan Hockey starts the 2nd half of the Big Ten Schedule tonight with a home and home series vs arch rival Michigan State tonight at Yost.  The Wolverines hope to have the 3 members of World Junior Champions Team USA as well as Coach Mayo who was also part of the Gold medal winning squad.  The Boys in Blue need to kick off 2021 with solid hockey and team play. #GoBlue

2021 is already.. different. The NY Mets----Yes Beav's NY Mets-- made the blockbuster trade of the MLB offseason Thursday, acquiring superstar SS Francisco Lindor and veteran pitcher Carlos Carrasco from the Cleveland Indians for Amed Rosario, Andres Gimenez and 2 prospects.  Wow. Steve Cohen is not messing around and is ready to play in the big boy aisle. Huge, huge day for the new owner and franchise. #LGM

2020 was strange. 2021 is starting out... STRANGER. If you asked me which NFL team-roster I knew the least about it would be.......... The Bucs opponent this weekend aka The WASHINGTON FOOTBALL TEAM!  For a variety of reasons ( Try covering two pro teams full time while living in one of the biggest College towns in America) this is very true. Led by Coach Rivera, QB Alex Smith and rookie defensive phenom Chase Young, WFT enter the playoffs as one of the hotter teams in the league. #LFG

The Buccaneers rode the arm of Tom Brady and some late game opportunistic defense to a 44-27 win Sunday at Raymond James.   #12 had 4 TDs ( 2 apiece to Chris Godwin and Antonio Brown) while the team got a major injury scare early in the 1st quarter. Star WR Mike Evans went down in obvious pain, holding his knee.  As of press time, reports are good and #13 has not be ruled out of the wild card round game vs Washington.
