  • Liz Phair: Exile in Guyville (1993) w/ SUZANNE Ep. 56

We are now the best Liz Phair podcast and the best Exile in Guyville podcast because we are covering the indie album that started all indie albums. It is the Low-Fi hit, Exile in Guyville by Liz Phair. We have a special guest who is here to talk about ball wash and home made birthday cakes SUZANNE!

We talk about the best (or worst) way to deal with fruit flies, the weird subculture of funny/dirty tshirts, can you ditch family movie night to exercise, Van Goghing to the museum, and the curse of slow birthday songs. We talk frenching with our significant others and the best songs about not getting to know you!

Then we talk Liz Phair and the sparse arrangements, the dirty lyrics, and the power of a woman reusing and creating a new subtext to the structure of Exile on Main Street.

  • Pink Floyd: Dark Side of Moon (1973) Ep. 55

We are now the best Pink Floyd podcast! (I call them The Floyd) We talk about Aaron's adventures in hurting himself, Pastamania and Hulkios and Russ makes us laugh with some laughs!

Also, Russell's drink this week still has me scratching my head. Listen, school is starting back up so I don't have the time to write the normally funny sentences here so just listen to the episode and enjoy. If you like reading so much, why don't you get a book. Actually don't because we really judge our self-worth by downloads so f you could tell people about it or take their phone at a party and subscribe, we would appreciate it. Or get your parents' phone when they are not looking and put us on there. Think about it.

Not going to lie, this is a four-disc 72 song behemoth but we go over every song. If you want to stream this, you can do it on pandora or Spotify premium but I recommend focusing on disc 3. The songs rock.

Matt has a big anniversary to talk about, Aaron is making some bonkers food choices again, Rob MCs a baby shower, and Russell talks BBQ.

  • Jimi Hendrix: Electric Ladyland (1968) Ep. 53

We are once again the best Jimi Hendrix podcast, covering his last studio album. We change things up a little this week with the music video draft to celebrate Rolling Stone magazine coming out with a list of the best music videos of all time. We pick the videos that we can remember most fondly and what a huge surprise that Aaron's picks are bizarre!

Then we dive right into Electric Ladyland and we talk about how much more Jimi Hendrix this album is than Are you Experienced, Russ drops a very shocking list on us, and we remember how great Janet Jackson videos are.

Reach out at call us at the beck line at 802-277-BECK and follow us on Instagram, Twitter, and tik tok at @beckdiditbetter. You can also email us at [email protected]

We finally become the best David Bowie podcast when we talk Station to Station by David Bowie. It's a podcast about station to station!

A six song album? David Bowie singing some funk but getting down with the synths? We cover the Thin White Duke and his cocaine, peppers, and milk fueled album.

We talk smores, chatting with the bartender, and Aaron has some MAJOR problems. We get into the best whistling songs and talk David Bowie and our own Golden Years.

  • Chuck Berry: The Great Twenty-Eight (1982) Ep. 51

Listen, Rob pushed some button so his audio is not great but when you have an artist who was arrested for toilet cams, you know this will still be a good episode.

We talk Chuck Berry and how when you have a good sound, why bother changing it for any song whatsoever. In fact, sometimes it is just good enough to take an old song and just come up with new words! However, you gotta give it up for someone who sued both the Beach Boys and the Beatles for copying him and won both!

We talk about northern MN casinos and how not to get stabbed, NBA playoffs and anti-sex beds, buying cool stuff at the liquor store, and Aaron is selling his receiver and speakers to anyone who really loves music.

Then we do a great bit about how you would actually film someone going to the bathroom on you! Chuck Berry everyone!

  • Jay-Z: The Blueprint (2001) Ep. 50

(Aaron's audio was not great on the first half of this show. He swears he fixed it!)

We are now the best Jay-Z podcast! This is the podcast where we are talking about The Blueprint!  We (kind of) talk about our first CDs, scavenger hunts, and thirst on TikTok.

We go through the newest Olympic sport of online dating, how we rebel as adults, and we talk about the glory of Rumpshaker by Wreckx-n-Effect, and Rob has to explain a number of jokes.  Matt talks about drinking in North Dakota and we talk about respecting Tina Turner.

Then we get into the album, talk Diss Tracks and the return of samples. Then THE BIG BOPPER comes back and Russ makes a list about the day the music died and we somehow make it funny (?)

  • Oukast: Aquemini (1998) Ep. 49

(NOTE: Aaron's recording got screwed up so he sounds like crap for the first hour. Just like the good old days.)

We are officially the best Outkast podcast and at least a good Aquemini podcast when we sit down to take our first stab at being a dirty south podcast. We are talking Outkast, the Motown sound and feel of the album, and the science behind the healing touch.

We talk about getting into it at the airport, going on a date with Russ, Matt's dreams about Pearl Jam and Aaron says his grandma is a great trash talker, even compared to some dude from his high school. This is literally what he planned to talk about. He looked at that last bit of the sentence and said, "That's good, I will talk about that."

We hear the newest sting for the show, talk about astrological signs and how much Aaron loves Joey Chestnut. Russ takes us on a journey through the best sequel songs part II!

Reach out at call us at the beck line (I fixed it) at 802-277-BECK and follow us on Instagram, Twitter, and tik tok at @beckdiditbetter. You can also email us at [email protected]

Next week we see what Jay-Z' opinion of Girls Girls Girls is when we become a Jay-Z podcast reviewing The Blueprint (2001) for the podcast. A blueprint podcast? What are we, architects? (Aaron might be, I can't pin down what he does.)

  • BEST OF VOLUME 1: With SPECIAL GUEST!!!!!1!!

( I know I play the intro song twice this week... it is a good song so I don't care)

    Well,

We are busy this week so you get a clip show. This is normally a Rolling Stone Top 500 Albums podcast but today it is all about us!

This should be a good jumping-off for a lot of people so if you want to recommend an episode, I say you give them this one! I split the best of up by each of the 4 hosts and explained it to our very special guest.

The special guest was not truly disappointed in me until the last clip.

A special thanks to our fans who have called the Beck Line at 802-277-Beck and a really special thanks to those of you downloading in Nevada! You know who you are.

Follow us  @beckdiditbetter on instagram and twitter and now TIK TOK! If you have any suggestions for bits that should be in the best of, please email in because this WILL happen again!
