On this weeks episode I sit down with Jake aka The Merrier who has a collaborative dream pop project. We start out talking about how Jake came up with the idea for this project and the decision to use a different vocalist on every track rather than his own. The idea to use different vocalist on every track really helps expand the overall range or emotion rather than tying it to one style. Next we dive into his debut EP "Cyclical", from how these songs were made to how Jake was able to lock in each vocalist. Before we get to stories we talk about what we can see from The Merrier in the future. Be sure to check out "Cyclical" and if you have the chance catch The Merrier at Fauxchella this year!!
This episode features the songs "Gold (Feat. Kaitlin Gaspar)" and "Vaminos (Feat. Ponz, the Angel & Masakiio)" from the album Cyclical.

Speaking of releases we go over "Roaring Paper Spring" which was 4 years in the making. This is an album that has a wide range of styles from pop rock to some pop punk and some twang. On this weeks episode I sit down with Alex aka Rare Candy, an indie folk pop artist from Chicago, and drink some 40s. We start out talking about how Alex got the idea for Rare Candy and the decision to start the project. We dive into his latest release "Nowhere To Go//Get To Know You" and his writing process behind his music. "Nowhere To Go" has this crazy and funky background that hooks you in and drives the whole song, while 'Get To Know You" is almost on the opposite spectrum being this light slight up beat song. Morale of the story two amazing songs. As I mentioned we do drink a couple 40's for this episode, much respect to Alex for challenging me for an episode and teaching me a neat little beer hack. Before we get to stories we talk about what the future has in store for Rare Candy and where you can see him next. Be sure to go check out all of Rare Candy's music and be sure to catch them in a city near you!
