BeezSheez Wrestling

Either he’s paranoid and a conspiracy theorist or our host Mike Davidson is dialed in more than the average wrestling fan. Yes he’s back on the CM Punk topic, believing ardently that the CM Punk/The Elite locker room fight was just an angle. Could he be right? He’s been steadfast from the start. And he loves to make the argument that Bret Hart was the mastermind of the Montreal screw job and in on it to the extent of planning the whole thing. “The Mecca” Shane Madison and Producer Chris continue to think he’s crazy on this one.

Another topic dominating the industry is fans waiting at the airport to meet their favourite wrestler the second they get off the plane. The three guys weigh in on this one. And just who was it who called Mike D “12 years out of touch”? It was AJ Sanchez, and we dig deep as to what motivates someone to think so.

All of this plus in the #MaryBrownsMailBag what would motivate any independent wrestler to ever commit to exclusivity?

The Main Event Munchies trivia is back. Wrestlemania is this coming weekend. It hasn’t always been a weekend show though. Can you name which Wrestlemania wasn’t on a Saturday or Sunday?

It’s a two man show this week as Mike D and Producer Chris breakdown the successful AEW show in Winnipeg last Wednesday. 7300 fans checked out the first non WWE televised event in Winnipeg in decades. Adam Knight, Massive Damage, Donnie Dicaprio are just some of the familiar names to receive “dark matches” on the show. Mike D contends that those weren’t actual tryouts but amounted more to squash matches. For Adam Knight it was his first wrestling appearance since slapping a paying audience member in December.

Producer Chris believes not a lot of independent wrestlers are promoting themselves effectively on social media. Does he have a point?

The #MaryBrownsMailBag is back, and Mike answers how long he believes the current wave of sellout crowds for independent shows locally might last. And the The Main Event Munchies trivia is back!

Holy Dina, Producer Chris and Mike Davidson drop the gloves and duke it out for the second straight week. This week, the argument is whether Eric Rowan is a bigger draw in wrestling than “Big Poppa Pump” Scott Steiner. CWE has Rowan debuting in Winnipeg in late March. Clearly Davidson was going off half cocked!

Uncle Lightning Dick won last weeks Main Event Munchies trivia, that Hulk Hogan & Tito Santana were the only two wrestlers on the first 9 Wrestlemania’s. This week’s question who was in the first ever WWE/F Ironman Match? Hint, it wasn’t at a pay per view.

Danny Duggan is reportedly getting an AEW dark match this Wednesday in Winnipeg. The guys talk about how this audition can help his career.

The rumor going around is that Kenny Omega will depart AEW in late 2023 and head to WWE. “The Mecca” Shane Madison and Mike Davidson have extremely serious doubts anything like this will happen and they elaborate on that.

In the #MaryBrownsMailBag the question is asked who is your favorite World Champion of all time.

A final reminder that Tuesday, our friends at www.firstrow.ca are hosting an AEW autograph session with “All Ego” Ethan Page and Danhausen. Tuesday 3-5pm at First Row Collectibles, located at 1835 Main Street in Winnipeg.

With “The Mecca” Shane Madison now a frequent BeezSheezer, the trio discuss the great efforts of Rob Stardom’s Wrestling For A Cause which raises money for charity. “The Mecca” attended his first ever Winnipeg Pro Wrestling event on Friday and as a BeezSheez bonus he has a 12 minute critique which is definitely going to shock some people with what he has to say.

Has WWE abandoned the Winnipeg market?! Since 1986, Winnipeg has been a “Fed” town. But now with AEW’s success and the belief they will return to Winnipeg again in 2023, where does that leave WWE? No announcements since September 30th when an impressive 9000 people showed up to watch a live smackdown TV Taping.

Mike & Producer Chris have a heated debate over what one factor has had the most beneficial effect on why the local independents all across North America are drawing noticeably better crowds.

The #MaryBrownsMailbag is back, with the guys offering insights about if wrestling has groupies like rockstars do?

The Main Event Munchies Trivia is back. Who are the two wrestlers who competed in the first 9 Wrestlemania’s?

And just over a week away from when our friends at www.firstrow.ca host an AEW fans dream meet & greet. Danhausen & Ethan Page will be at the First Row Collectibles location (1835 Main Street Winnipeg) on Tuesday March 14th from 3pm until 5pm.

Very few can pull off ranting and raving better than Mike Davidson, and 3D Pro Wrestling in Winnipeg gave plenty of ammo to get him started this week. 3D is promoting an entire show of “death matches” without a wrestling ring and that has prompted Davidson and Jeez Weez (Mecca Shane Madison) to sound off on everything that is wrong with this idea. To say Davidson is pissed off might be an understatement.

Somehow Tony Khan was voted “Booker of The Year” for 2022, and that also seems to leave Davidson in a state of bewilderment.

Mike and JeezWeez go back in time 21 years to talk about a show that really set the stage for their careers. March 3, 2002 “Latino Heat” Eddy Guerrero came to Winnipeg to help put PCW on the map, Mike and Weez share their memories of the night, a few days ahead of the 21st anniversary of that show.

We’re back with the #MaryBrownsMailbag where somebody asks whatever happened to Zack Mercury?

The Main Event Munchies Trivia is back! Main Event Munchies is an incredibly tasty locally made pretzel.

Our friends at www.firstrow.ca are hosting a major autograph signing ahead of the AEW Dynamite taping in Winnipeg. Danhausen & Ethan Page will be on location at First Row Collectibles 1835 Main Street on Tuesday March 14th.

For the first time in '23, Mike & Producer Chris are joined by Mecca Shane who has been missing in action since Christmas time when he left for Mexico. The topic of discussion is Mike & Mecca’s reflections of working with “The Total Package” Lex Luger in 2005 and Marcus “Buff” Bagwell from 2002 through 2008. Both made quite the lasting impression of being funny, charming, professional and great for business. Mike shares a sick rib he pulled on Buff. And Mecca talks about how Lex Luger was really impressed by the kitchen appliance Mecca couldn’t live without.

The focus of the conversation shifts to local wrestling and the current climate in Winnipeg with Primos Wrestling (once referred to on the show as Deer Lodge Wrestling) battling the 14 year established CWE and how things could be getting very interesting. Mike and Jeff opine about whether James Roth makes a better babyface and Chad Daniels makes a better heel.

In the #MaryBrownsMailBag the three are asked which championship belt was their favourite of all time. Oddly enough Ric Flair’s Big Gold does not make the cut.

The Main Event Munchies Trivia is back, and you could win a bag of the best pretzel locally made ever. The question this week is: In the first ever Summerslam, the main event was The Mega Bucks vs The Mega Powers. Who was the special guest referee?

And our friends over at www.firstrow.ca had a huge announcement this week. On March 14th in conjunction with the All Elite Wrestling event in Winnipeg, Ethan Page will be at their physical location 1835 Main Street in Winnipeg to sign autographs. #LexLuger #BuffBagwell #NWO #AEW #WWE #HulkHogan

Mike Davidson calls him the best creative visionary he ever worked with in the wrestling business, and Mike thought so much of his efforts, he made him the lead writer for WFX OVERLOAD in 2010. Liam Phillips joins the show to talk about working with Mike Davidson to develop a very stellar wrestling crew. Liam talks about working with the likes of Larry Zbyszko, Arik Cannon, Kevin Thorn and how they gelled into a very cohesive team. It’s a journey down memory lane.

For the last quarter century the name Scotty Mac has been synonymous with the best the British Columbia wrestling scene had to offer. Not only gifted with in ring talent, Mac also helped build ECCW into one of the best wrestling companies in all of Canada. In the last few years however, the speaking out movement has left Mac much maligned and his company in a state of inactivity. Not shying away from the situation, and willing to speak openly and honestly about everything, Scotty has joined Mike Davidson and Producer Chris and doesn’t hold back, even with toughest and most direct questions. Scotty Mac has already been judged by a lot of people, now is a chance for a lot of people to judge for themselves. What did he do wrong, what didn’t he do but got held accountable for, and what wasn’t his responsibility at all? You’ll have a much better and balanced view after hearing this interview.

Also on the show, Kenny Omega is warning fans that he may not have the physical capabilities to have the out of this world matches… Father Time might be catching up to the phenomenal talent. But how can you explain the New Japan match with Will Ospreay?

For the first time ever we’re doing #MainEventMunchieTrivia, brought to you by our friends at Main Event Munchies. And then there’s another edition of the #MaryBrownsMailBag.

With Producer Chris ailing and contagious, Mike Davidson is forced to call into the show and the discussion that ensued might shed a lot of light on rumors around Canadian Wrestling. Chris seemed to lead Mike into a trap by discussing the 4 promotions based in Winnipeg striving to make their mark. Canadian Wrestling’s Elite, Winnipeg Pro Wrestling, Primos (Deer Lodge) Wrestling and now the returning 3D Pro Wrestling are all promoting events. 3 out of the 4 are drawing sell out crowds in their home venues. So naturally Chris gets Mike to point out one very positive thing about each and one negative about each. That also led Mike to discuss how impressive it is that the promoters can draw these kinds of crowds when there is plenty of shared talent and no exclusive wrestlers.

In the next segment, Producer Chris takes Davidson to task on the perception that Mike has a reputation of being “opportunistically honest”. Mike seemed off put by the question but did offer a very lengthy response.

In the #MaryBrownsMailbox Mike fields a tough question about how he as a big advocate for exclusive talent would attempt to establish that kind of policy and which talent would he use in this day in age.

We can’t tell exactly if it was cranky Mike Davidson or just very self assured Mike Davidson, but we definitely got an entertaining version of the host. The independent wrestling economy seems to be healthier than ever in many markets, with attendances ranging between 200 and 350 for shows.

Producer Chris and Davidson discuss if wrestler exclusivity would help or hurt that or if it would even be a non factor. The tragic death of Jay Briscoe and the decision by TBS to prevent AEW from airing any kind of tribute was discussed. Davidson believes the Briscoes were just about to have their best earning years.

In the #MaryBrownsMailbag the question gets posed about female athletes bleeding and if that was a bad idea?
