BeezSheez Wrestling

Primos Wrestling promoter Graeme Keam released a video shooting off about naysayers to his wrestling company. He went as far as to reference the “Mike Davidson talk show” and being assessed as the 3rd place promotion in town. That leads off the show with Mike Davidson, Producer Chris and “The Mecca” Shane Madison sharing their opinions on the promo and everything Primos Wrestling.

Marty Jannetty was the subject of the season finale of Dark Side of The Ring. Now it’s time for a more personal version of Deez Seez of Reez where Mike & Mecca will talk about a few guys who were the centre of controversy locally.

WWE Monday Night Raw is in Winnipeg, and it’s trending towards being a huge crowd of 9000 fans!

Is a comeback in the works? “The Mecca” Shane Madison is causing a bit of a stir in the Winnipeg wrestling scene. The Regular Special Guest Star on BeezSheez has definitely been considering one more run, a comeback, at least a match or two. Mike Davidson surprised his long time friend and close associate by grilling him on how close he is to making an official announcement to make his return.

How about Top Talent Wrestling in Edmonton announcing a distribution agreement with one of the largest content providers in Combat Sports, FITE TV!? Top Talent has established itself as a leader in Western Canadian wrestling, producing extremely high quality events on a regular basis in Edmonton. That led to a conversation about why or when Winnipeg Pro Wrestling should do something similar.

In the #MaryBrownsMailbag, if you could hire one Wrestling Superstar in the prime of their career, who would you sign?

Hot topics led to subject matter that may have triggered some listeners lately. And this week is no different. “The Mecca” Shane Madison decided to dig deeper on wrestlers who have been cancelled or maybe should have been cancelled and didn’t. The list is eye opening and begs the question why do some guys get cancelled in wrestling and others skate by with no consequence.

Speaking of consequence, there are reports and rumors that someone has been calling host venues for Primos Wrestling trying to get their upcoming 4 events cancelled with “The Villain” Marty Scurll on the card. Shane Madison says he knows who is doing it and he isn’t amused.

The #MaryBrownsMailBag and BeezSheez Wrestling Event Centre are back with all the events highlighted throughout Western Canada!

Is Marty Scurll cancelled in the wrestling business? Or are we about to see one of the great wrestling redemption stories? Primos Wrestling Winnipeg has announced they have booked Scurll to headline against Canadian standout Mentallo. The discussion of this decision is controversial and quite hilarious. Scurll may be one of the most talented wrestlers in the world, but he might be way too hot to handle. Promoter Graeme Keam also booked Marty Scurll for a spot show where the promoter will team with the international standout to take on Robby Royce and ATM.

Darkside of the Ring did a deep dive on Abdullah The Butcher and did a great job covering the Abby/Devin Nicholson lawsuit. Did the madman from Sudan victimize Nicholson? Mike Davidson has a very interesting take on that.

Mike Davidson is back in studio! The boys talk about AEW in Saskatchewan and more specifically Canadian Wrestling legend Mentallo making his national TV debut on AEW Rampage (seen on TNT in the US/TSN in Canada). Mentallo wrestled Takeshita and had an incredible outing leading Mike Davidson to speculate that he’s in a prime position to get signed. Based on his versatility, Mentallo could slot in anywhere on the AEW or ROH roster.

Saskatchewan saw some sparse crowds for AEW with Regina struggling to get to 2000 for Collision and Saskatoon barely doing better for Dynamite. Tyler Breeze has elected to start taking bookings and the boys speculate that he is a guy who would really be a big deal for Impact Wrestling to sign. Is Mike Davidson wrong? He claims he rarely is but he admitted he under estimated the Samoa Joe vs CM Punk Collision main event a few weeks back.

The #MaryBrownsMailBag tackles the question of what mistake did Triple H make in his first year fully in charge of WWE creative.

As a birthday gift to “The Mecca” Shane Madison, Mike Davidson let the regular guest star have his chair and microphone for this episode, while Davidson Skyped in from a remote location. MeezDeez offers up some insightful numbers of just how much market share WWE gobbles up in a week of programming, with Raw, NXT and Smackdown getting almost 3 times as many viewers as AEW Dynamite, Rampage and Collision.

Why has AEW struggled at the box office in Western Canada? With dreadful numbers of ticket sales in Regina and Hamilton AEW has failed to demonstrate enough momentum to keep up with WWE in live attendance numbers.

Kenny Omega was catching heat for dangerous bumps he took in his match with Will Osprey? Omega does today what Ric Flair couldn’t 35 years ago, however, Ric Flair could do what he did 7 nights a week. Both were works of art but perhaps it’s time for Omega to just be the special attraction in AEW.

Only one question in the #MaryBrownsMailBag!

A long weekend edition of BeezSheez Wrestling does not disappoint! Mike Davidson talks about the 3 styles of independent show that fans can see. There is the traditional model where a promotion focuses on ticket sales to meet their budget needs. A sold show, where the promotion sells an entertainment package to an organization and it becomes their responsibility to sell or distribute the tickets. And the third type of show is when promoters do a free show as an exhibition to generate news fans. Broken down, there is a pros and cons to each show model for the fans.

The guys believe that Tony Khan needs to adjust his focus creatively in AEW to establishing a number one babyface contender to work MJF. They really dropped the ball some time ago with Wardlow and need to figure a good option now to make their main event angles better.

In the #MaryBrownsMailBag what should happen if a fan hits the ring? Should wrestlers attack the fan? Is it ok?

The latest episode of BeezSheez Wrestling includes “The Mecca” Shane Madison reviewing this past weekends CWE show at Rookies Sports Bar in Winnipeg. Some interesting tidbits come from the show, including the health of CWE promoter Danny Duggan who has had 3 surgeries on his knee in the last few months.

Also what happens when a champion from a different local wrestling company does a job on a different show, does that compromise his credibility? Mike Davidson offers some good insight on that.

The first episode of AEW Collision is in the book, and CM Punk has returned. Could AEW booking be on point right now, apparently so!

Davidson believes MJF should hold the title until losing it to a babyface Kenny Omega. And then Omega should work with CM Punk on top.

The #MaryBrownsMailbag includes whether Chris Candido could have been a World Champion.

It’s a biggie for the boys this week as they choose to make the 60th episode a milestone of pure positivity! With Producer Chris keeping score MeezDeez and Special Guest Star “The Mecca” Shane Madison try their hardest to say nothing negative about anybody. Not AEW, not Tony Khan, not Adam Knight, not Primos, an episode of the hosts blowing sunshine. This episode is quite funny!

The shenanigans continue on BeezSheez Wrestling as the boys get into a discussion if a wrestling commission could be valuable in establishing a commitment to qualify amongst promoters. With no ring, death match spectacles popping up like regularly and under qualified wrestlers getting on the job training, Special Guest host Shane Madison suggests regulation could help. Mike Davidson speculates who could be qualified to be a regulator and who would be great at the job. Suggesting Steve Stryker, Stan Saxon or Andrew Shallcross as ideal candidates.

WWE Hall of Famer Iron Sheik has passed away at age 81. The guys share their memories of the Sheik during the height of his career as the top heel in the industry.

Magnum TA’s Darkside of The Ring was real good. But was Magnum the guy who lit Jim Crockett Promotions’ fire or was it The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express?

In the #MaryBrownsMailBag we find out what it would take to make women’s wrestling a better scene in Central Canada.
