I was in a Facebook group and someone asked, "What are your tips for getting more listeners to your podcast?" and the very first comment was, "Marketing.. Facebook ads" and while there were other decent suggestions, many of the suggestions were BUYING promotion (Facebook, Google Ads, etc).
It wasn't until I left a comment that someone brought up making sure your content is good. Here is what I wrote:
Create content that is SO GOOD, that your audience has no choice, they HAVE TO share it with a friend. According to Jacobs media 70% of people find new podcasts through word of mouth.
Once you are positive your show is having the impact on people you want to impact (it really needs to be people you did not grow up with, and people you are not related to like your mother), THEN you can start promoting your show.
Get Some FeedbackIf you want some feedback I do offer a Podcast Review service.
If you'd rather work on your content in private sign up for some coaching. Let me know what episode to listen to, and we can amplify what you are doing correct, and minimize the parts that aren't working.
