Hello listeners, this week we have a conversation with Juan David Ortiz-Romero.

Growing up between Medellin and Massachusetts, Juan David was raised by a hard-working father and a resourceful mother. Soon after high school in 2005 Juan enlisted in the Marines as an option to help pay for college and found himself happily residing in San Diego after 3 deployments and an Honorable discharge in 2010.

Recently he has been working as an event planner for the San Diego Mac and Cheese festival, and as the director of marketing for a start-up company, www.LendIt.io, with some friends he met while attending college locally.

Juan looks forward to an early retirement like most of us and is hoping to make up lost time with his little brother who is the motivation behind his drive. He shares with us what it was like growing up as a young Colombian immigrant learning about a new culture in America and pursuing his happiness in life.
