  • 32. What Seasonal Depression Looks Like with Audrey Rose

On today's episode, my good friend Audrey Rose is back to talk with me all about Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) and how it shows up in our lives. Many of us experience seasonal depression during the holiday season. As we wrap up thanksgiving and go into Christmas I though it would be important to talk about our mental health surrounding the holidays. For a time of the year that is joyous and full of love for many we often forget how many people are struggling with anxiety, stress & depression during the holidays. For those of you experiencing seasonal depression I hope Audrey's story and experience with it can help. Do not feel ashamed to look for help when you are experiencing seasonal depression because it is more common than you may think and should not be taken lightly if you are struggling.

  • 31. Navigating GRIEF During the HOLIDAYS with Miranda Duman
On today's episode, I talk with former hospice nurse and woman warrior member of our STRONG HER community Miranda Duman all about grief. During the holiday season grief tends to hit us even more than usual because we think about the ones we love during the holidays. Having open conversations about how we navigate our grief not just during the holidays but at all times is so important to help us get through it. If you need someone to talk to about your grieving process you can always connect with the women in our community and go to a supportive therapist. You are not alone in your grieving process and remember everyone grieves differently. Miranda recommends: Being intentional, practicing self care and not being afraid to have conversations about grief!

  • 30. Dealing with DEPRESSION During the Holiday Season

Hi everyone, so last night on my instagram: @reganneobrien I did a little livestream talking about dealing with depression during the holiday season and what that looks like. On today's podcast I am going to expand on that and talk more in depth on this topic for you. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families if you need support from me I am here for you! Remember to get professional help if your depression feels overwhelming and you can always call a depression hotline to talk...

Why might you be facing depression this holiday season?

    • Loneliness
    • LOSS of loved ones this past year
    • Another year of the COVID-19 pandemic
    • What does it look like? How do I know I may be depressed this holiday season?

      • If you are very tired and have less energy than normal
      • If you have been isolating yourself from others
      • If you feel overly stressed, anxious or sad thinking about the holidays
      • Here are some tips I have to overcome depression during the holidays:

        1. Surround yourself with whoever you know that can support you!
        2. Do something that makes you happy or helps someone in need!
        3. Give yourself a gift you always wanted! What is one thing only you can do for you?! Give yourself that gift this holiday season! SELF CARE MATTERS!

        6. 28. ANXIETY of Having a CHRONIC ILLNESS during COVID-19

In this episode I opened up about my experience surrounding the pandemic and the anxiety it caused for me initially with my chronic health issues. I also gave the following four tips as a way to navigate the pandemic and get through these challenging times.

          1. Have conversations and be open minded to others

          2. Make the choices that are best for your health and be your own advocate

          3. Be mindful of the news and things you read on social media

          4. If you feel it is best for you to keep your health decisions private do not let others intimidate you to have to share

I hope these tips help you as they have helped me navigate all the talk lately surrounding the vaccine mandates and what that looks like for our own health decisions.
