 Main Idea: The Bible speaks of Jesus as the Good Shepherd and in this passage, we can see several reasons why He is so Good:  

1. The Good Shepherd lays down His Life for the sheep.    

a. Death was selfless  

 b. Death was sacrificial

 c. death was specific (which means it is successful)  

2. The Good Shepherd Knows His Sheep. 

 3. The Good Shepherd will Gather all of His Sheep.  

4. The Good Shepherd Fulfills the Father's Plan and Defeats Death 

 Conclusion: Don't be divided about who Jesus is, instead place your faith in the Good Sheph

Sermon Text - John 10:10

  Main Idea: Jesus came to give us life and life more abundant, but what does that look like?  

1. What Abundant life is not. 

- It is not what the world or the thief tells us, but rather what Christ tells us. 

- It is not hedonism or health and wealth.  

2. What Abundant life is. 

- It is the gift of eternal life and salvation by grace through faith. 

- It is the enablement to please God in our life. (The fruit of the Spirit and contentment)  

3. How do we experience Abundant life? 

- By being united with Christ.

Sermon Text - John 10:1-9  

The Sheepfold: 

Walled-in place of protection

Cared for by under-shepherd

Each Sheep is inspected to see if it can enter  

The Shepherd Knows His sheep by name

Calls them out to follow Him

They Follow Him and know His voice, and His sheep will not follow another. 

He is our authority. The head over all the church. 

The Sheep-Door: 

Saved- We belong to Him

Secure- Will not be shut out

Satisfied- needs are met by Providence

Sermon Text: John 9:35-41.

We see three main things:

2. Spiritual Sight's Results: When the Lord opens our eyes and we truly see spiritually, we believe and worship.

3. Spiritual Blindness' Consequences: The arrogance of the Pharisees reveals that they are blinded by their sins. The consequence of this is that their guilt remains and they will face judgment.

Application: We should humble ourselves before our Savior and worship Him while proclaiming sight to the spiritually blind.

Sermon Text: John 9:13-34

Main Idea: When confronted with the truth of Jesus miraculously healing someone (which pointed to His deity and being the Messiah) the Jews responded with hostility. Their response reveals to us how sinful people respond to the truth.

1. They Question the Truth: This questioning is not an attempt to be faithful or curious but rather an attempt to find something more appealing or convenient.

2. They Revile the Truth: The hallmark of a sinful response to truth is to hate the truth when we should love it.

3. They Attack the Witness of Truth: When they could not stop the truth, they attacked the one who bore witness to it.

Conclusion: We must not question or hate God's truth but rather love it and faithfully stand as witnesses of it

Main Idea: Jesus corrects the disciple's wrong understanding in a few key areas.

From Jesus' correction we can see:

Conclusion: In all these areas, Jesus calls us to recognize God's Sovereignty and Providence and to glorify Him in all aspects of our life.
