July 25, 2016 0035 - You Are Already Clean [Abide Part 5]
The hardest part about losing
weight is keeping it off once you've lost it. The hardest part
about marriage is not the wedding, it's staying married. The
hardest part about being a parent is not having kids, but raising
them.
Sometimes our greatest challenge
is not starting a race, but staying in the race until the end.
Jesus knew this would be true for His disciples. They had already
been cleansed and set apart by the truth revealed to them by Jesus.
Their challenge now would be to stay that way even when Jesus was
not physically with them.
Your challenges may look the same
today. You're on the right path, headed in the right direction.
Your goal now is to stay the course; to not get distracted with
boredom, curiosity, fatigue or frustration. What does Jesus
tell his disciples to do to stay the course? You guessed it: abide
in Him.
And as we’ll learn in this week's
video Bible Study, "You Are Already
Clean", our strength to persevere not only comes from
abiding in Jesus but that when we do, He too abides in us. All the
power and fuel we need to keep running the good race is not all up
to us. It's a comforting reminder that Jesus is with us helping us
all along.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank
You for abiding in me and strengthening me with Your Holy Spirit. I
pray for the courage and faith to run the race You have marked out
for me. I love You. In Jesus Christ Name I pray,
Amen.

July 18, 2016 0034 - Every Branch That Does Bear Fruit He Prunes [Abide Part 4]
So the other day I'm folding up
clothes while my son was playing in the room with me. Next thing I
know I see him just as content walking around with a pacifier in
his mouth.
Now, normally this would have not
presented a problem except that we weaned him from the
pacifier months earlier. I'm surprised he even knew
what to do with it. But somehow, someway, he found a pacifier that
had probably been lost for who knows how long and pops it right in
his mouth.
I kindly took it from him and he
went on his merry little way. This was a completely different
reaction from when we first took the pacifier from him. As you
moms, grand-mothers, aunts and god-mothers know, weaning a baby
from a pacifier, bottle, or even thumb can be challenging. The baby
has grown used to doing things one way and here we come changing up
the whole game. Who do we think we are? And with screams, tears,
tantrums and even sleepless nights they let us know how they really
feel.
Just like we let God know how we
feel when He allows certain things or relationships to leave our
lives. But like a good parent He does not want anything in our
lives that prevent the growth and fruit He desires of us. Now, I do
not believe God is the cause of our pain but many times He will use
our pain to grow and develop us.
In our text for this series Jesus
calls this process pruning. This is the gardening technique where a
gardener removes useless stubs and shoots from a plant so it can
produce more fruit. And in this week's video Bible study,
"Every Branch That Does Bear Fruit He
Prunes", Jesus lets us know God does the same thing to
us.
I wonder how many things we
complain about that are actually God growing us and stretching us
to be the women we've been called to be? Maybe the challenges we
are facing are not because God is mad at us but that He's using
certain undesired situations and relationships to grow us for our
good and His glory. When it comes to pruning I believe the process
can be painful but the outcome is always fruitful.

July 11, 2016 0033 - You Are The Branches [Abide Part 3]
Each year my family and I grow a
small garden in our back yard. It is fun to plant, take care of and
watch grow; especially with the kids. But we don't grow this garden
just for fun. We also want fruit to enjoy. The same is true for
God. In this week's video Bible study, "You Are The Branches", we
learn that God is growing a garden. He is the gardener, Jesus is
the vine and we are the branches. This garden He has been so
careful and watchful over is His Church. Not the building you go to
on Sunday mornings but you and me. It's those that believe in His
Son as Lord and Savior.
And after all the care God
is investing in His Church you better believe like any good
gardener, He is looking for fruit. God wants us to be
fruitful. So let me ask you: what is fruit? And what does a
fruitful life look like? These are the questions we're answering in
this week's video but here's a quote from today's Bible study to
get you thinking in the right direction.
"Our fruit is not just knowing
about Jesus but actually knowing Him. Our fruit is not just reading
God’s Word but actually doing what it says. Our fruit is not just
thinking of love as this great concept or cute cliché that we like
to throw around. Our fruit is actually laying our lives down and
being the love we so highly esteem. This is the fruit God is
looking for from our lives."
Be fruitful today Beloved and be

You for planting me in Your truth and love and allowing me to be a

July 04, 2016 0032 - I Am The True Vine [Abide Part 2]
I love a good bargain. The words
"sale", "discount" and of course "clearance" are my dearest
friends. Oh the joys of never paying full price! I like to think
I'm pretty good at finding a deal. I actually schedule our family
meal plan around which items are on sale that week at the grocery
store. Oh, chicken breasts are $1.99/lb that week? Looks like we'll
be eating chicken and rice, chicken salad and chicken fettuccine
that week. Want to know what's for dinner? Just look at this week's
super saver deals, ok?
Now, as much as I love a good deal
I've also learned there are some things I just can't go cheap on.
Fruit, mattresses, and contact lenses; just to name a few. For me,
with items such as these price matters. Sometimes you just have to
pay full price to get better quality. It's ok to buy knockoffs or
off-label sometimes, but other times you just have to get the real
deal. You know what I'm saying?
I think the same is true with
where we place our faith. There are a lot of knockoffs out there
for where we can place our faith and hope, but the satisfaction and
joy does not compare to what Jesus offers. It may work for a while
but like the cheap pantyhose that only last one time, it won't last
for long.
This is why in this week's video
Bible study, "I Am The True
Vine", Jesus makes it clear He is not just any vine but
the TRUE vine. He is the one offering fullness of life and joy to
all that place their faith in Him. And girlfriend let me tell you,
this salvation He offers was not on sale or clearance. It was the
highest of prices. Good for us we didn't have to pay it. Jesus paid
it all. So if you want to best life has to offer? Make sure you are
serving the best God: Jesus Christ.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank
You for paying the high price for my salvation. I pray for the
courage and strength to live the life You died for me to live. I
love You. In Jesus Christ Name I pray, Amen.

June 27, 2016 0031 - The Vine And The Branches [Abide Part 1]
This is the day the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it! Today is also the day that we
start a NEW Bible study series called "Abide: How To Live A
Fruitful And Joyful Life". I feel our last two Bible study series
were pretty intense. With "Believing
Better" we learned about Jesus' temptations in the
wilderness and how we can fight those same temptations. With
"Unshaken" we
faced our fiery furnaces with our friends Shadrach, Meshach and
Abednego. I'm excited to say we're going to slow things down for a
bit. Today's study looks at some of Jesus' last words to his
disciples before His crucifixion. His words are filled with hope
and love as He prepares both them and us for what is to
come.
His last instruction is for them
to simply abide in Him, His love and His word. It's a charge to not
make life as complicated as we do and a wonderful reminder that no
matter how much we hustle, the fruitful life that God desires of us
is only found in abiding in Him. So how do we do that? And what
does a fruitful life even look like? Well, this study will answer
these questions and more. Check out this week's video,
“The Vine And The
Branches”, to introduce our "Abide" Bible study series.

June 20, 2016 0030 - Abide: How To Live A Fruitful And Joyful Life
Next week we are starting a new
Bible study series called "Abide: How To Live A
Fruitful And Joyful Life." This series started the
same way all my studies do. I have a problem and I seek the Lord
about it. I start studying a topic or scripture in the Bible that
speaks to this specific problem and I become obsessed with it until
I end up with a full Bible Study that I
have to share with you. My thought
process is if I have this problem you might too and if God has
helped me to find freedom, wisdom or healing in this area I feel it
is my responsibility as your sister in Christ to share that with
you.
So what was the problem that lead
to this "Abide" study? I was tired of striving. I was burnt out
from thinking I needed to work my fingers to the bones and lose
sleep to grow Beloved Women. I was looking at other ministries and
trying to do more and be more than I was called to do. So at the
beginning of this year I cried out to the Lord and told Him I was
done striving. And I'm sure He was in heaven like "Good Christina,
it's about time." I was lead to study John 15 where Jesus tells His
disciples to abide in Him. And I was reminded God is not calling me
to hustle and strive. He's calling me to abide in Him. As I've
learned more about what it really means to abide in Jesus I've
found much joy and fullness of life. So this “Abide” study is my
opportunity to share all these lessons with you.
Are you weary of always trying so
hard? Are you sick of hustling and feeling like you are not making
the impact you desire? I truly believe this Bible study will help
you to live free from all the expectations we place on ourselves
and live joyful, fruitful and full lives. I believe this because
this is exactly what this study has done for me.

"Abide" study that starts next week. Then

June 06, 2016 0028 - Unbound, Unharmed & Unshaken [Unshaken Part 7]
I’ve grown very fond of our friends Shadrach, Meshach and
Abednego during this study and I’m a little sad to say this is our
last video from this series. They have encouraged us in a boldness
of faith to stand firm when the struggle is real, or real hot like
in their case. But it’s this very faith that gets them thrown into
the blazing furnace. It’s a hard truth to accept but even with
unshaken faith there are still struggles we will have to walk
through.
However, in today’s video Bible Study “Unbound, Unharmed and
Unshaken” we learn that when God goes through the fire with us
miracles happen. We learn that the very fire the enemy meant to
destroy us will be the very thing God uses to free, promote and
bless us. James 1:2 tells us to:
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you
face trials of many kinds,”
I think James knew that as believers in Christ, when we go
through the fire with faith in God and Him with us, we come out
unbound, unharmed and unshaken; just like our good friends
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. Thank You Jesus!
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for being with me in the
fire. Thank You that no weapon formed against me shall prosper. I
have decided to follow You because You alone are my defender, You
are able and You are altogether worthy! Hallelujah! I love You. In
Jesus Christ Name I pray, Amen.
This series might be over but this conversation is not Beloved.
