Kfm Mornings discuss South African Airways latest strike. 

More than 3,000 South African Airways workers -- including cabin crew, technical and ground staff -- started striking on Friday, 15 November, primarily to protest mass retrenchments.

They're also demanding better pay after negotiations recently broke down.

The South African Cabin Crew Association (Sacca) and the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa) are demanding an 8% wage increase while SAA is offering 5.9%.

The strike led to the cancelling some international and local flights causing the airline to suffer losses of about R52-million a day.

Every week, Rameez Khan of Kfm Mornings makes his way to courthouses across Cape Town to hear their stories. This week, Rameez went to the Cape Town CBD Magistrates Court.

He first spoke to a gentleman who explained that one of his workers is appearing in court on a theft charge. He was caught on camera trying to flog off some products at another franchise. What's shocking is that it was an employee that he would never expect.

Rameez then met with a young lady in court because her elderly next-door neighbour accused her of trespassing. She explains that they live in a sectional title and she often sits outside on the stairs with her friends however the old lady has laid a case claiming it is her property.

In the latest episode, Rameez speaks to a woman in court to obtain a letter of authority following her mother's death. Her mother failed to list any beneficiaries on her life policy.

Rameez also meets with a young lady appearing in court for drug possession. She claims that the drugs were not hers, she covered up for a friend to save him from going to prison. This is not her first offence, last year she was in jail for armed robbery and attempted murder.

When Kfm Mornings received a message from Johan desperately trying to get from Ladismith to Bloemfontein to see his ill mother, they knew they had to do something. 

After sharing his story on-air, hordes of good samaritans came forward offering Johan assistance including a taxi to the bus station, a return ticket to Bloem, a warm meal, flowers for his mother, hiking boots, a new bicycle, financial assistance and so much more!
